Thread regarding Oracle Corp. layoffs

WARN in CA?

Anyone know how many layoffs there were in California? Wondering why they didn’t file a WARN notice in CA.

@a4 I guess I need to brush up on my laws because I don’t understand this. I’m an employee in California and got the same spiel as everyone else yesterday. 9/22 last day then severance, given you’ve signed the agreement we’ve yet to receive.

I am studying WARN law as these layoffs pertains to single decision. It is time to file a complaint against oracle. In NC their threshold is low and they have given only e week notice to effected employees.

They did. It's just not public yet. It's about 250 in California.

@a2 they do seem to do it sneakily. even lot of current employees don't know it happened. at best, the manager walks around and tells his reports privately. Maybe some manage or team will have a small group meeting announcing the "change".

Its boatload of employees history & I am one of them. That's how they operate - under the rug, quietly & without raising eyebrows.

I think it has to be more than some percentage of that location or more than certain number of workers affected.
