Thread regarding Edward Jones layoffs

Has anyone heard how many people accepted the VSP? I’ve heard more than expected, but can anyone confirm that?

@1cy So if 552 took it, that's like 6% of non-GP leaders and associates. If they're targeting less than the 15-20% total of GPs... couldn't we just do talent match/placement with this new fancy org chart and let the rest play out through natural attrition vs. laying people off?

One would think that several hundred of non-GP leaders and associates would leave the firm for new opportunities over the next couple of years - attrition will only accelerated with the current environment, too.

We can't give it 6-12 months to see how attrition plays out on it's own and then retrain people to fill open roles as needed? It feels clumsy to force people out that want to be here when others may leave on their own.

@1cy Mostly Rule of 70.

Thanks to those that fell on the sword. Each one of you saved another person's job. Enjoy your freedom. We'll live vicariously through you. I'll imagine you skipping and frolicking through fields of flowers with giant smiles on your faces.

552 took vsp. 40 gp’s were reimagined. Now the ISP’s will come.

@n9 I said 380 a few weeks ago. Pretty much not a lot of folks believed me.

Less than expected accepted, ~340 out of ~3000 offers. The vast majority were rule of 70.

That was far less %-wise than accepted the operations offer last year.

So you can expect the axe will fall hard on the next wave (announcements in August).

My boss told me the same, and they are very credible.

@a2 sorry, best we can do is penny rocking a loud pantsuit and dropping more catch phrases for use to repeat and memorize (ie propaganda). If we are lucky, maybe Chubak will get up on stage and start foaming at the mouth about how many more jobs get to go to india this year. He might be busy though with a photo op while LARPing as an FA in some random rural branch.
