I worked on this project, though minimally and am confused as to how it can take jobs away. As far as I can tell it was just a simple replacement of WorkDay. I'm sure there is much more to it but from my eyes, that's all that has happened. A different format of WorkDay, basically.

The Oracle erp implementation is just that. The nuance is that it’s on premise vs cloud. Really not a big deal if it works.
ODW is becoming a bigger and bigger CLUSTER FK by the day. And guess who's right in the middle if it all - JC!! What a tool!
@cm The thing is though that they didn't wait for "if successful". While some orgs perhaps haven't seen all of it, the ones in operations/support surely has. When I finally had my exit half the organization was gone.
And now I'm hearing all new functionalities will require this and that from the very same organisation that is non-existent. At least the stock price went up, right?
I believe the idea was for the Agentic AI Workflows to use ODW. To draw information from a single source of truth.
It was sold to the general population as consolidating several thousand "programs" into ODW. I think I am simplifying this, but that is what I remembered.
I think the intent was to get all workflows into one environment so that AI could train on tasks that would normally have been done by a human. If successful, that would led to some jobs going away.
But I said "intent" and "if successful" because so far it just looks like one big cluster.
@bt I thought the whole point of ODW was to consolidate, integrate, and save money from expensive SLAs like SFDC.
If all we've done is add yet another convoluted, clunky, disjointed tool to our tool bag, with mandates that we have to use it, what's the point? JC and his team really did a cluster FK mismanaging this whole project. But hey, he got his millions in bonus.

Thank god this project was so mismanaged that it will never cause jobs to be cut. In fact, this thing might create jobs, cause it will be so much worse than SFDC that we will need dozens and dozens of extra staff to make the same work as before.
Right now you are correct. It is far away from taking jobs but this is because almost nothing of the promised magic has been implemented to date.....at least here in germany.
But hey, more important is to use saleschat 5 times a day.....ugh....i have to ask it when ODW will start providing real benefit :-)
all the pomp and ceremony around it being a gamechanger and all it seems to be is a clunky UI doing (as you said) what WorkDay did but far worse.
