So while the price of a meal in the cafeteria has increased 10-15% over the past year, my pay increase was a lousy 3%..... You do the math...... Definitely a competitive work environment!

@bk how are 98% of the posts here related to layoffs? Stfu!
@bd whatever helps you sleep at night. I’ll send you pics next week when I start my new job where cafeteria provides all meals at no cost.
@bk go polish Maurice’s shoes
@t8 so is critical thinking based on your response.
@ss agreed!
@t8 3% of a 60K salary = $1800
Divide by 49 weeks a year (save 3 for PTO) = $36+ a week
At 3 days in office, that's $12 a day
Not unreasonable and not worth an insult.
If you are spending 3% of your salary on cafeteria food, you probably need to diet. Math is hard.
The cafeteria is run by an outside vendor. They have no clue or connection to what what raises were in HCSC. Besides, they’re are plenty of other tenants in the building (who maybe got good raises) that can buy their food.
I do appreciate in Chicago HQ they offer a shuttle bus to/from the Metra stations - a lot of companies downtown don't - you're on your own to get to the office from Metra stns.

How is this related to layoffs? Bring your lunch or go somewhere else to eat.
Stop licking corporate boots.
Stop buying from the cafeteria.
@OP Either you live in IL or think we work for Google. Cost of parking is up, cost of taking the train is up. Be happy you got a raise of 3% and a bonus. Likely you are not going to seek a better job where cafeteria food is free and raises are higher. Good luck.
