Funny thing is, everyone at EM hates being here so much, that’s the only thing that seems to be holding us together. No shared pride, no excitement, nothing, just collective misery. Somehow surviving the place feels like a team effort, and that’s the only bond anyone has these days.

3rd fake post I read on this site today. Boooooring. Come up with something original. Your mom will reheat your meatloaf later.
@OP People are there for the paycheck. This is the only reason to stay at any job.
It’s all about the Benjamin’s. Say it to all the young bucks unless you get on the executive ladder quick better make alternate plans like saving and investing as much cash as possible then bouncing to early retirement. Don’t buy useless sh-t when young.
This is so true. I’ve a few close friends who are HiPo in one of the GBCs, and since the COVID cuts they’ve been disillusioned as well. I met up with one and he told me he hates it here, but still has to put up an act as he’s in the local LT. another who’s been in several expat assignments resigned a year ago, simply because the culture horrible (from rich family and can go back to run family business).
We all genuinely enjoyed working in XOM for many years, but suddenly the culture just fell off the cliff since COVID
Agree with OP, this is a shell of a company. WAEM is such a farce, the company must be delivering industry defining levels of disengagement and underperformance.
Incredible result to disenfranchise to such an extent so quickly.
Everyone hates it they are just too scared to say anything. There is an escape if you can make it. Mine is about 900 days away.
Get away from complainers. Everyone doesn’t hate it as much as you think they do.
Think money 💰 and lack of opportunities keeping you tied to your toxic environment. If not, leave, EM will continue to survive without you 😉
