Thread regarding PepsiCo Inc. (Pepsi) layoffs

Still no luck in finding a new job

Recently I got another one of those “you’re great, just not what we need right now” emails. It's like they keep telling me “we like you, just not enough.” Not good for my self-esteem, I have to say. Not at all. Anyone else get one of these soul-crushing polite rejections?

@1ey That's not true. Only in certain federal jobs are they required or possibly due to state level mandates. Unionized companies may require it or possibly affirmative action plans a company may be a part of. More than likely it is a companies internal process to avoid discrimination lawsuits and to show a "fair" hiring practice, which for all intents and purposes, make the hiring process seem "unfair".

@OP . It can be frustrating. Best solution is to use pepsico education and learning programs ( courses that will give you transferrable skills) - have pepsico fund or “ part fund “ ( depending what region you are in ) . Then when the opportunity arises , market yourself externally. Good luck

@aj Internal applications are a farce. They post them because, legally, they have to. Then they will say that they couldn't find an internal candidate and source someone from overseas.

Look, not gonna sugarcoat this: 25 years, still relatively young with varied experience at Pep. I have over 150+ apps in and have had about 10 interviews. I have had 7 offers but I’m sorry, more work for less pay is not why I left. Companies are lowballing big time. There was one opportunity where I was happy, they were happy but their HR said no external candidates per the powers that be. Everyone is shook not just by tariffs but by their capriciousness. So, I’m being patient.

Don't stop. Took me 90 days to find a new gig. They call it "fishing" and not "catching" for a reason.

@OP
We're in the same boat....almost 2 decades here...20 internal applications...and nada...Also tired of hearing people say "fingers crossed"
