There are a lot of trolls on this site so take a lot of what is posted with a grain of salt. There are people on this site who are very bitter as well. I think R&D is one of the safest places to be right now.

@gf agree.. Lexmark was heavily in debt. No way their current processes will continue in the new world unless they can prove cost/ benefit justification. Xerox has been highly impacted by the financial cost/ benefit justification business model. Lots of downsizing when those intangible benefits can not be translated to real dollars

Xerox Device Manager which is at the core of their managed print doesn't work, and the people that support it don't know how to fix it.

I think even LEX employees will be shocked at how inept the XRX leadership team is.

@gf a prime example of why Lexmark brought so many ch debt to the acquisition. Lexmark leadership is at the bottom of the barrel in this industry due to its inability to recognize you need leaders who are able to manage costs.

Red alert Wall Street investors!

Lex RDE should be concerned. Temptation to have higher margin Lex and now low investment (RDE) is classic short term American playbook. Japan Inc does not do that. There just isn’t much Xerox RDE left.

Lexmark. The company that sends a whole feed assembly instead of just feed rollers. That’s cost effective for sure. I’m sure the solenoids and magnetic clutches are worn out at 10,000 prints. Give me a break. And if they are, you have opened a whole other bag of worms. You can’t spend money like a drunk soldier forever.

Lexmark R&D/manufacturing is likely the safest place to be, given Xerox's proclivity for badg-egineering, XRX' lack of manufacturing facilities, and Katun's recent A3 entry into the competitive US marketplace. Lexmark A3/A4 is the core component strategy. Just expect people to start telling you that fully optimized integration and the light at the end of the tunnel "is only 12-24 months away" - "stick with us through the bumps", but then you'll watch all the people who you know have the institutional knowledge to drive/guide an enhanced merger disappear one by one. When your direct superior's start coming clean that they have no control or no idea about future corporate direction, then you will know that you have been fully embedded in the parent corp. culture.

Hey @d1+1k3fcdayz I think this guy is overseas, hence the errors. Also, Xerox is a proper noun, and should start with an upper case X.

@OP Here is what a Xerox employee will tell you:

  1. If you are going to use contractions, learn to use apostrophes.
  2. Just like the advice above, you will not get any meaningful career advice from this site.

Good luck upgrading and good luck fixing. You will have your work cut out for you. People hate Xerox and are not crazy about Lexmark. You will experience the no-win scenario.

Fake news, when two companies merge they will always eliminate some jobs that have no need for twice the coverage like H.R. ect.
They’re not gonna lay off all the Xerox techs and give the full load to Lex.
Besides the xerox techs probably make less.
