Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

Displaced and office attendance

HR confirmed that if I am on a working notice period, I must still go into office normally.

Any fellow displaced planning to swipe in their 3 days?

Those who were previously displaced and skipped office during working period - did it impact your severance in any way?

My access was cut off the day I was given notice. Working or non working notice depends on leadership judgement and role.

@OP During my 60 day notice, 3 weeks of it were working and I was told I needed to meet the RTO requirement for those 3 weeks. I was not happy about it but wasn’t going to chance losing my severance over it. It’s over, and only 2 weeks remaining of the 60 days.

When I was displaced in February they had cut my access within 45 minutes. First efficient thing they had done in 10 years!

Working notice- shouldnt the company be worried about workplace safety after all of the psychological warfare leading up to the layoffs? Ugh!

Don't chance it. I however arrived at the office Thursday and my badge wouldn't let me in. After a discussion with security they said my access was removed. I am home today with still no response from my manager on the question.

This guy knows the score. Find a quiet place with a door. Throw on the NC headphones, and prep for your next adventure. Don't risk the sev. Make them pay.

Most people received a non-working notice.

They can technically ask and require you to do anything during that notice period. I think most departments have just cut the cord collecting equipment and terminating system access same day. That’s what happened to me but did disclose I “could be” requested to come in. Not likely if they already took access away. I guess if they had a need until coverage in India was secured then they would still have you come in during that time and if so I would do it. You don’t want to give them reason to get fired as a no show and miss out.

Just find a conference room and watch a streaming service if you can’t coffee-badge through it. Hopefully your manager will just leave you alone.
Agree- don’t get fired during the notice period.

I wouldn't risk giving them any reason to fire you for cause.
