Thread regarding Fiserv Inc. layoffs

I’m part of that rare breed actually happy with RTO

It doesn’t inconvenience me in any meaningful way. The commute is short, and more importantly, I get to keep my work strictly within office hours. Not a minute more. So, goodbye to being on call late into the night. For me, that’s a huge win. That said, I completely understand why others are frustrated, especially when RTO is more than just an inconvenience, and a serious disruption. I only wish leadership were more flexible. But if they were, we might actually be satisfied with our jobs… and God forbid that ever becomes the goal.

I’m extroverted/introverted so it’s exhausting five days a week. I need to be able to recharge my extroverted battery

@kp I was told this included an hour lunch so it's only 8 hours of work time.

There is an introvert/extrovert component to RTO often overlooked. Extroverts seem to like, sometimes need, to be in an office. That is fine for them, but shouldn't be forced on everyone without thought.

It sounds like some have boundary issues when working from home. I always shut down my pc and leave my work phone in my office once I'm done for the day. No issues working from home and separating work time from personal time for me.

One more thing that I wish to be removed is the 9 hours work time (for certain employees), which is too much.
Can they just get back to 8 hours work time for all employees.

I wish I could say the same. In office is very distracting to me but I don’t have kids or pets. I get more work done at home versus in office.

@e5 I prefer the trust to have flexibility but working at the office is a good way to get work done when I am getting work done instead of needing to fight distraction, and then BEING HOME. There is no point to make life harder than it needs to be half assing work and home life at the same time. That is of course personal.

I prefer working in the office and not remote. I work in office 5 days a week and started doing so way before it was mandatory. I like the disconnect and work life balance, when my shift is ends I go home and don’t work again until I return to the office.

Why all the hate for @OP? They're 100% correct. They like going to an office so RTO is terrific for them. Let them go to an office. They acknowledge others don't like it or are exceptionally inconvenienced, and they agree those people shouldn't be forced into an office. We're both in the same side, just playing different positions. Don't downvote the friendly voices.

We don't need people on visas.

In person high school mentality is bad for seniors, most of the ppl are on visas. How long will people rent? Property taxes are highest in nj. Ppl need to have full flexibility, this is not elementary school.
