They need to do an investigation of ISP

They need to do an investigation of ISP personal. I work in an adjacent group and I'm d-mbfounded by the so called experts. PEs and Management they have no understanding of the group they run. Don't have creditentials which baffles the mind how they got the titles in the first place.

They create more issues than needed. I can't blame a tech when they have no guidance whats so ever.

Hey Charter how about you randomly give them a proficiency test to see if they know what they should know. I'd start with the PEs.

I was on email chain where the PE was asking me what levels should be at ISP equipment. like it's your equipment I know what levels should be coming out of mine but I dont design or know the requirements for ISP equipment. They send email saying we're not helpful?? What?

Yes this is a rant because it's just frustrating to work with people with titles who have no understanding of the title they have.

well i dont know about pe as we can never speak with them. the playbook is a joke and wastes tons of money. no one to ask questions to and managemnet just says follow the playbook but then we ask to order playbook stuff and then we get told dont follow it for this project. wtf kind of playbook is that?

so which is it follow or dont? because the playbook just looks like a way to wasate money or some dum--ss wrote it that never actually did ISP work. we have a hub that "had to get redone" because it doesnt follow the "new" playbook every time a new version comes out our area fails to follow it because our build may be between version x and version y.

bunch of cr-p and we get hit in review.

A SVP once told me the way to keep power is keep the brains at the lowest level as they know what to do and when to do it.... promote everyone else to free up room for more smart low paid people.

just looked up some of the ISP people on the directory i have to laugh when i see the profiles online. Like really other than just existing for 100000 years they have not done anything else or jump from job to job.

wonder if they could pass the SCTE courses they make the employees do?
