Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

This this the way….

….. The Wells Fargo Way

The Wells Fargo way to alienate, and frustrate employees. It is the way to crush employee morale even more than the misery we continue to suffer through. The ultimate goal? WF wants you and others to leave on your own accord instead of displacing you. All to avoid paying out severance packages.

If you read all our quarterly earnings reports starting last year, all 5 operating segments, Consumer Banking & Lending, Commercial Banking, CIB, WIM, and Corporate, have all continued to report some version of this comment “Noninterest expense decreased 6% reflecting lower severance expense and operating losses, as well as the impact of efficiency initiatives, partially offset by higher operating costs.” They are proud to announce the Wells Fargo Way is working as planned.

Please note:
Many of you are calling this the Wells Fargo way
For Clarity - It is the WF way SINCE the takeover by JP MO--N executives (starting in 2019) the Sharf mimicking Diamond model.

Before that Wells was a GREAT place to work. Great people, Great Culture, Family

The best part of generative AI is seeing who is too lazy or incompetent to proofread and edit the output to make a coherent argument.

When you're too uneducated to understand what bad writing looks like.

@OP You showed that the Wells Fargo way to alienate and frustrate employees is not just a byproduct of poor management—it's a deliberate strategy. The ultimate goal, as you pointed out, seems to be forcing employees to leave voluntarily to avoid paying severance, all while touting "efficiency initiatives" in their earnings statements. This is management psychological abuse (PA) on a systemic level. While PA exists to some degree in many workplaces, Wells Fargo appears to have institutionalized it, creating a culture where employees are systematically belittled and pressured to quit. A 2023 APA survey found that 19% of workers describe their workplace as very or somewhat toxic, with those in toxic environments being over three times more likely to experience harm to their mental health (52% vs. 15%). However, at Wells Fargo, the percentage of employees who feel trapped in a toxic workplace likely far exceeds the national average, given the bank's history of high-pressure sales tactics, unrealistic performance metrics, and pervasive bullying. This isn't just anecdotal; former employees have described a culture where management actively undermines workers, using performance systems as we-pons to "yank" employees rather than support them. The bank's own statements about reduced severance expenses as part of their "efficiency initiatives" only reinforce the perception that they prioritize cost-cutting over employee well-being

Don’t be silly - they want to control the attrition rate so they won’t be understaffed - they want to get rid of us at their own pace. It’s not some grand conspiracy to make you sad. This is being beaten to death. Lots of overthinking. It’s really typical Wells Fargo.

Ethics Line is the biggest fraud of all at Wells Fargo. They are all rigged by Sr. managers and executives. Once you reach out to them, your career at Wells is over. Meanwhile, Charlie is rewarded with a big bonus for reducing the workforce cost.

Do you mean this is the WF Way?

Constructive Discharge or Dismissal - In employment law, constructive dismissal[a] occurs when an employee resigns due to the employer creating a hostile work environment. This often serves as a tactic for employers to avoid payment of statutory severance pay and benefits. In essence, although the employee resigns, the resignation is not truly voluntary but rather a response to intolerable working conditions imposed by the employer.

10 Examples
Ignoring Concerns
Employer Retaliation
Refusing Accommodations
Public Criticism
Demotions
Changing Hours or Location
Removing Benefits
Unsafe Conditions
Employee Discrimination
Withholding Pay
