Been with TR for almost 20 years, originally with a smaller firm until acquired. No real elevation, just small raises to match inflation and benefits to keep me fed. Year after year, doing more with less, no end or promotion to see, just reports to report on top of work. Anyone feel like the gerbil spinning its wheel? Boss if you see this, I'll take the severance! Bet you want to leave too.

"Anonymous" - Why call me a d**k. You mad because it's true? Stay classy.
Why thank you. I'll take that as a compliment!
Well congrats to you, @3djt+1dQ9r3RL --you're a d**k.
I didn't wait for severance, but my severance wasn't going to be huge even if I got it. I think they would have piled on more work. Instead, I found a new position. Better $$$, signing bonus, and overall an opportunity to move forward.
Well congrats to the lucky severance winners. You're being paid to shop in one of the hottest job markets I've seen since the 1990s. Anyone weeping about getting laid off from TR is probably too stupid to hire.
As soon as Thomson became Thomson Reuters, the die was cast.
I am happy to say that I am one that got let go during let’s let people go right before the holiday annual drive. I am very happy to be done with the recycled strategy year after year.
I was always annoyed when the layoffs were over and I was still there.|:
"Great, now I get to experience yet another new paradigm in leadership. Very excite. Much wow. Such projects. Whoooo!"
Well, they sent out your 'self evaluation' this week. All to say, they have turned the wheel, laid off the people they wanted to, and you are next up with their change program.
No word on the number let go, no number on the number to come, but I would make one bet. The number of US employees is going to drastically shrink next year. Their plan is to get rid of just about everyone of us. How original. The ways they are destroying this company is amazing.
I do agree with you completely. I would rather be somewhere else now.
I agree. The talk about career paths is laughable. The only career path is "keep doing what you're doing but we're going to give you more work as we lay off your colleagues and don't backfill positions when people quit."
At this point… who isn’t? seriously?
Been here even longer, hate what the company has become particularly over the last five years or so. Really would love to be let go ASAP and collect the severance and I think I have a lot of company in that regard. Maybe next year!
You're in good company.
