Thread regarding Fiserv Inc. layoffs

I'm willing to quit over this

I am not going back to the office. It's not even a coronavirus issue for me, I don't want to lose hours of my day once again now that I know how much of my life and quality time spent with my family I used to lose by sitting in my car and driving to and back from work. I refuse to give that up. I work more from home than I ever did when I was at the office because I have fewer distractions and I am in a better mental state overall. Why they'd want to force me back is beyond me. Whatever their reason, I'm not doing it.

Not everybody working from home is pi----g away this highly flexible opportunity. It's a job seeker's and home buyer's market. TAKE ADVANTAGE. You are not required to be in a office to do great work. If necessary, look beyond Fiserv to find your happy place.

Are you literally re--rded? You want people to move and uproot their families and friends just to move closer to a building to work in even though all that work could be done at home? These office simps are getting more and more stupid these days.

As a contractor, I worked for 18 months for sub-standard pay - which is what Fiserv is known for. Departed the place and whenver I see a job posting for Fiserv ---- I would not come back for all the rice in China. Atmosphere seems so toxic from the recent posts. NIghtmare environment. Advice - do not walk into this place.

How about considering a move to a home and school closer to work?

@OP+1d97UGL6 Plenty of companies have recognized that there is mutual value in enabling employees to continue working from home. FB is just a control freak. If you are outside of 50 miles from an office let them lay you off so you can take a severance package.

I feel the same way. They're taking 10 hours a week out of my personal time, without reasonable justification and with zero flexibility. No single benefit a company can offer me is more valuable to me than more personal time, and right now there are plenty of good companies offering it.

Good. Take a stand. They cannot fire everyone.
