Things have changed for good

People saw that life could go on without having to be a corporate slave for 40 hours a week. Good luck getting back to the way things were.

Face it, things are different now and the old ways are not going to be around much longer. The youngest boomers are turning 55 this year. Another decade and most of them will be gone from corporate leadership and we can finally bring business into the 21st century.

Stop making life be about enabling work and make work be about enabling life.

Uggh! Stop the generalizations and divisive talk. Most of us want the same things in life: love, health, respect, a roof over our heads, meaningful work.

I have both younger and older people in my life who all are smart, caring and willing to work hard for a decent paycheck. Don’t let the few bad apples out there have any control.

Boomers are not the problem. Its the self centered I want everything now and my way generation. Raised on instant gratification and as we are learning the not so great social media as my source of knowledge. Life is about people and being with people even at work.

Gen X starts in 1965, the oldest Gen X are 55 in 2021.

The youngest boomers are 57.

It was good effort though, to make Gen X smaller and more ignored than it is already.

Personally, I did not take OP’s post as being anti- boomer. I know many younger people who are just as stuck in old-fashioned ruts like “butts in seats” because they enjoy the control, competition, prestige and hierarchy.

And I know plenty of boomers who want more freedom as they get older, and who appreciate more creative and open- minded solutions to current problems.

I’m my experience- people, no matter their age group, will do whatever they can to hold on to their fat paychecks.

I personally heard someone said “I deserve to get paid and doing nothing because I worked hard for 10 years. Now I can enjoy the easy ride”. To be fair he did work hard for 10 years. Some of the people I know do nothing since day one and enjoy their easy ride every day
