Thread regarding Sam's Club layoffs

Free lifetime membership

Does anybody know how to get your lifetime membership fixed? I quit the company in June. Went in to shop and my card wouldn’t work. We have new managers that don’t have a clue. I’m 63
And because of my age I only needed to have 15 years in for free membership .. I was there for 17 years. New managers don’t know about the new policy. They say it is 20 years ... no way. I saw it on the wire and I did fill out the paperwork. Any suggestions ?? By the way. There is life after Sams.

@OP It should have auto converted unless your store deleted your membership.

I worked for 38 years and have always been told I get a lifetime membership we worked for it if you want to change rules then grandfather the associates that worked for that privilege and tell new hires they get nothing for years of service but I think you owe it to us that know what we were told when we left the company the lifetime benefits of free membership

Because it is free!! And I surely deserve it. Costco i would have to pay for it.

Email Samsalumni@samsclub.com
Club support is the only department that deals with the alumni membership. It is NOT handled at store level anymore.

I think every manager should know what to do for lifetime membership, but they don't, why it so hard to get what you work for.

samsalumni@samsclub.com
Email them and ask what you need to get the lifetime membership. If you are still working look up alumni membership on wire.

Why would anybody who worked here for enough years to qualify for a free membership want to enter one of these cr-p clubs ever again??? Costco is far better anyway. And they treat their employees like human beings.

I’m trying to get mine. I have filled out the paper several times. Each year it’s a pain. Now they say I do it on email. Waiting for a reply. It’s so difficult maybe they hope we will give up on it. Or nobody seems to know how it works or what to do. Very upsetting. If the give it to us as a benefit it should not be so hard. If not I’ll join Costco like all my friends and it’s so much closer.

I sent in the paperwork but never heard back anything. I hope I have a lifetime membership because I would be embarrassed to use it and it was turned down. I just want it for the gas I don't want to go inside and see former managers that are jerks , well most of them are(cut throat)..... LOL

I posted that I left in April and it took many emails to get it in system till 2027. Well tried to buy gas last week and it said expired Aug 2019. Back to sending more emails. How can the largest company always seem to be in such disarray?

@2ifc... exactly. I left after being "laid off" after 20+ years and thought a few moments about submitting the documentation for the lifetime membership. Nope, not giving a single penny of my hard earned money to that place.
Yes, there is life outside of Sam's including Costco & Target shopping.

Why would you want one? Do you really want to go back there to shop?

If you still have a membership team lead! Glad to hear there is life after. I think that may be starting for me very very soon. The should email askmember@samsclub.com for you. Someone at your old store. No 9ne at membership or in marketing is supposed to touch those memberships, only home office.

Try sending an email to samsalumni@samsclub.com. That is who I need to contact to have my lifetime membership extended when it is coming up for renewal.

I left in April. You definitely qualify. Filling out that form does nothing. Is there someone there that can email home office? Someone went to bat for me and it took lots of back and forth to get me to 2027. Although it is lifetime, their system can only go forward about 8 years.
