Thread regarding JPMorgan Chase & Co. layoffs

Those half day raffles…..

Is the firm really that cheap that it only gives out half day as their raffle prize instead of something more practical , like cash prizes, or how about a full day at minimum ? So when someone is off, their colleagues will have to fill in for the winners so the firm is still pretty much not losing anything but if they prize is cash, now they are losing money. Very cheap / sly

You should accept winning a half day pay graciously and not let your ego interfere. Chase is a great place to work with many benefits. Don’t kick a gift horse in the mouth. Don’t bite the hand that feeds you. Others would gladly take the half day off with pay if you don’t want it.

But you’re the one who came in here and barking while not reading what’s going on …

I'm confused. Are they not getting their standard paycheck + benefits (ie, what they agreed upon when signing up to work for chase)? or are they salty about not winning the raffle prize and now calling sour grapes.

because crying about not getting things that were never part of your benefits package + comp agreement to begin with is victim mentality, and it's sad.

The other person is right. You should go tell your owner to offer better raffle prize and wiggle your tail while doing so. It’s like sparing a few pennies to a beggar instead of giving him a dollar, you’re giving money but in an insulting way. Barking loud doesn’t make you right haha

It's clear you're a miserable person that chooses a negative, glass half full mentality over enjoyment. Nothing is ever good enough for you and god forbid Chase does anything that makes you happy. Your view is irrelevant, and come January, you'll be one of the many clowns that only gets a 25 cent raise.

Son, paychecks and benefits are what’s what’s already promised when hired and are the minimum. Raffle is something they do on the side to appreciate employees so if you really putting effort into appreciating them, then do something practical. Looks like you’re one of those creatures that come up with that type of raffle prize so no surprise there

"Getting fed a paycheck" get over yourself. Yes by all means the employees are what keeps the money flowing in. If you want to talk benefits and perks, next year health insurance is going down to like 10 bucks a month. People are out here paying like 150 or more at other jobs. Meanwhile yall are bi--hing about only getting a half day. The entitlement is off the charts. Grow a perspective.

Getting paycheck isn’t everything… employees are reason the firm can brag about their earnings every quarter so if you think getting fed a paycheck means the firm can cheap out on you, you have some growing up to do

And? Thinking about it like that is missing the point. There are people that don't have jobs anymore. I'm sure they'd be thrilled to have a steady paycheck and win a half day off instead of getting laid off. Regardless of who's picking up the tab, that employee is going to come back refreshed and ready to work, and that benefits everyone.

Those that won the raffles are at their coworker’s expense, not the firm if you really think about it…

At least it's some time off. It could be 100 bucks cash and there would be someone saying "only 100?! Chase is a billion dollar company blah blah blah". Some people are never satisfied.
