They look pretty sideways to me right now. No one seems to be in charge. 5G is turning out to be a big hat no cattle story, and layoffs are in the pipeline for the foreseeable future.
I wonder when things will go sideways? Is it next week or has it happened already? Please, oh wise man/woman/trans, let us know so that I may prepare for it.
@8kmx+1g9jOs0Z This has to be the most lame response I’ve ever seen in here.
You said to just remember what was written. In the post you’re referring to it says you added nothing to the conversation. Looking at the one it’s referencing, that would be true.
You’re still adding nothing to the conversation but garbage. If you’re a cat, then you’re a diseased cat who thinks way too highly of themselves. You insult, add nothing relevant to the conversation, and you probably think you’re being ‘wise’.
@7fnb+1g9jOs0Z: just remember what you wrote when things start going sideways. Cat's like us land on our feet. Enjoy!
@7qtx+1g9jOs0Z You literally added nothing to the conversation! The person you’re commenting about at least stated his opinion, gave a mediocre reasoning, and closed it out. That’s a heck of a lot more than you added. You just insulted, gave an opinion, and put nothing in. Reading what your wrote just reinforces what the previous person said.
There will never be another strike at VZ. The ship has sailed. The company will not try to take any concessions away because they got all the concessions on the 2016 strike.
All the company is focused on now is getting the old timers to leave… they will prob have a nice package coming.
The newer employees hired after 2016 do not get pensions or job security anyway.
The ones retiring now are the last of a lucrative bell era and early VZ long distance network build. They are retiring very handsomely with million dollar 401ks and pensions. Now who’s the dummies smh
@6xzc+1g9jOs0Z I really do hope that you remember all that you wrote, because a couple of decades from now while I am still collecting dividends, you will be driven out of the workforce with not enough coins in your pocket to feed yourself.
You have no idea what you are talking about or what is involved in field service or customer service. You are the reason that the company is stuck and is being outpaced by T-Mobile who eats your lunch every day because of your lack of knowledge and arrogance.
No worries though, as we will always be able to get a good laugh out of your predicament, as you will likely be laid off in the next three years. Save your pennies!
lol, they’ll age out the majority of reps and techs with pensions by the early 2030’s, maybe even late 2020’s. That’s the burden on the company. An old workforce that doesn’t understand where the company is headed. I also would not be surprised if a 6 and 6 is offered by 2029. Remember, the company doesn’t hate the union, they just hate the old workforce that refuses to move on. All those people hired in 1999-2001
The craft workers have never been in a better position to wreak havoc or wrestle concessions. The viking painted the company into a corner and traded competence for woke and esg. Now the company is peopled by a workforce to doesn't understand what the company sells. But they are a real standout in their "Employee Group".
If we get a contract extension ,i hope the union is smart enough not to freeze the pension band like they did in 2010 to 2016.they really screwed the membership over with that cause they said, Oh nothing changed, someone was sleeping ant contract table back...then
Honestly, management and craft can be d-mb as dog do---o! Especially if management came up through the ranks. Management won’t care about performance but they will care about friends. One said she’ll support people of her own race, a way to get back at people who aren’t part of hers. This is a terrible way to run a business. It’s no wonder some refuse to take part.
That said, I think it’s just my office that’s this bad. Others seem to be more in line with modern ways of running a business, which I wish mine was that way. I currently pray work from home continues, so my contact with that trash is limited to slack.
And I bet 90% of current managers don't even know where to begin when it comes to shooting a trouble
lol, there’s always a clown who says work from home is done. Meanwhile, the majority of reps want to stay home the, the company wants us to stay home, and the union has been on board since 2021. None of them are d-mb enough to get rid of it.
What are you people even talking about? Outsource calls to the Philippines like everything else and contract the low skill wire pulling work. Call it a day. Contracts will be renewed at the unemployment office.
How many year extension will it be? I am hearing a 4 year ext. that would be nice 👍
Ah - but there are far too few of you who can even close one call a day. Almost none left that have any idea of how the phone or Internet works let alone effective customer service. That is why there will be a longer extension.
There are many who are willing to put in whatever it takes for the big strike assignment paychecks. Nice to do something different sometimes. But there won't be a strike. Contract extension. Best for all.
A strike would cripple the company.
What strike or lockout? I thought this was the "What An Extension" brag thread! lol...
I think Hans is in a bit of a pickle. If there is a strike or a lockout, a percentage of the current US based management workforce will leave Verizon rather than go on strike assignment. I can see work@home for most call center jobs this time around, but for those assigned to tech jobs their work@home would be suspended and a good portion of management will be shipped out of their home state to areas of need for tech jobs. There will be mandatory 6 and/or 7 day work week with 10 - 12 hour work days. There aren't enough management employees to cover all strike assignments, so Hans will have to hire vendors which is a tall order during a general labor shortage in the US. Verizon would be better served with an enhanced severance offer to the union coupled with a new management friendly contract.
Work from home in done and not part of the contract Negotiations i am sorry to say . I know a well respetced union VP and the union does not want WFH .
It's not okay. You people are disgusting and have ruined the company.
That’s OK, were not crazy about the rest of the Company either…..
WOW! The anti union troll on this board just put a g*n to the roof of his mouth.
We had heard rumors of this before the Pandemic. The word at that time was contract "extension" until 2027 or 28. I suppose the Pandemic derailed those plans.
I’m getting an extension just thinking about it!!!
No, May 22nd is the two for one cheeseburger sale at McDonald's for all the fat diabetic wire slingers.
Anyone who's been around for awhile knows you won't know till you know and that's that!
Negotiations start May 16 2022. Looking at an extension.
Fake news. Back to filing out my disability paperwork.
Here comes that 6 and 6 they were talking about.
A happy worker is a productive worker. Verizon 2.0 isnt just lip service. They really mean it. Thank you Hans
lol at all the people crying about the union being done in 2023.
I wonder if it will address wfh?
Yet let everyone on this site tell you the Union is done. Whoever came up with this site needs to remove. Always wrong and inaccurate.
