Thread regarding SAP layoffs

When will CK shrink SAP America to 10K employees?

On Great Place to Work 2024, it’s mentioned that SAP America has 16,707 employees. Wikipedia, updated 2019, says 19311, and Top Workplaces with no date mentions 24K.

More than 50% of SAP’s revenue is from USA.

Will we survive until 2030 ? Or is the Stock Price is not good yet for a comfortable retirement for HP and his puppet CK ?

German management is unfair and discriminatory.
Gut North America...
Practice blatant age discrimination...
Hire lion's share of leadership in Germany, while pushing all of the other jobs to shitholes like Buenos Aires and Manila.
And the comment about Germans is spot on. I have never worked with so many people who have to take extended medical leave because of stress... Jesus... what a weak-willed culture.

The comment on Germany is unfair and discriminatory. There was a plan for 3500 departures to be compared with 8000 worldwide. Volunteers are way above the target.
I am in France. 10% of HC is targeted for voluntary departure.

But in reality, they should be shedding German jobs. But you know they won't do that. The German folks are the laziest, most expensive, and least innovative. Sure...go fire some US folks to save a few dollars, but the real problem is Germany. Always has been.

Anyone touching Lori Rosano’s S4 Public product is gonzo… and they’ll take your reputation with them.

I'm not sure the HC will get to 10k, but compensation for new employees will be considerably lower moving forward. More and more roles will be consolidated into the Digital Hubs where they will be replaced with cheaper and younger employees.

As mentioned by CFO and CK, SAP and financial markets are comparing revenue per employee with Workday, Salesforce, etc. which means SAP needs to shed thousands more. Of course high cost countries (with limited worker protections) are primary targets. And AI automation will further accelerate the trend - so get ready for the next wave.

In NA if you are not in customer facing role ( and not cust. support, which will go to LATAM or India) ) and directly generating revenue, you will be history.

Sales related roles probably account for 50% of the positions in NA, others better get resume together. Long gone are the days when Bill M and Rob E. were based in NA and expanding the footprint, CK has been here once since he was CEO... should tell you everything you need to know.

It’s not 50% - Revenue from the Americas region is close to 40%, with the USA alone contributing 33%. But yeah, jobs from US layoffs are not going where the revenue is generated.
