Thermo Fisher Scientific Shuts Franklin Plant, Affects 80 Staff
Thermo Fisher Scientific is closing its Franklin, Massachusetts facility. This action will lead to a new round of layoffs. Eighty employees are expected to be affected by these job cuts. The remaining 120 staff will relocate to other state facilities. The company attributes these changes to current customer demands and efficiency reviews.

Definitely some corp IT in ETO and AAD. Sunsetting Gene.AI since it achieved effectively nothing, and reorging a lot of those teams

@5ad, yes. Up to 60% of some teams are being moved to low cost areas. More people are being laid off on the corporate side right now.
The plan is to move most US and UK roles to low cost countries over time.
Quotes team in CTD has been outsourced to Costa Rica. 14 of the team members let go as of now.
Layoffs will continue through next year at least based on the information that the company shared this year about overall cost saving measures.
I believe the firing wave is not yet over. I am still very surprised that there were layoffs in Europe, and in CSD...
