Thread regarding Nike Inc. layoffs

PSP, Fridays in July and a week in August off.

Just like the CDA these “off” days are going to leave things in a bigger mess than we were already in. That said, APR better be happening and not use these “off” days to deflect!

Ding ding. That's going to suck if you're an ETW because it's essentially a furlough. It will doubly suck if you're an ETW and need FTEs to get your work done.

I wonder how hard they will come down to not pay ETW on these days off. I have worked at places where "they" decided nobody works that hard the day before a 3 day holiday so lets make no ETW allowed to work that day and we will save millions!

Sorta looks like another page in that play book. A simple $$ savings and get to look like the hero.

Rumor has it that anyone working on SEC will not get the week off and in fact may only get one of the Friday’s off. The whole announcement was a sham.

Is this just for EMEA?

People act like anything ever got done during Summer to begin with. I was always rushing to get whatever sign offs I needed from my sr. leadership before July because I knew my project would wither on the vine otherwise.

It’s been a rough year and I don’t agree with many of the decisions that were made by the executive team, but let’s not complain and be ungrateful about 120% payout of PSP and additional PTO this summer. Thank you to JD and the rest of the SLT, this is very much appreciated.

These off days are a sham. They didn’t come down from VP level down the chain - I just randomly had the link shared with me to the schedule by someone else. I am expected to negotiate near term, leadership-fixed timelines with my manager to get the time, after stumbling across this knowledge that was never sent to me.

This also requires that an FTE abandon their mostly ETW teams.

Nice idea, but a poorly executed idea can be worse than no idea at all.

Maybe these will be good interview days...
