Thread regarding U.S. Bank layoffs

Is our inside info from HR over?

Just wondering, we knew about the last round of layoffs so well and I figure September/October but whoever knew must no longer be at the bank…just wondering.

Hate the cryptic statements. Just state facts. Is it ISS?

Which business line are you referring to that doesn’t directly make the company money?

2 other high ups, 3 below them, some high level admins or program managers, and a big shuffle in one business line that doesn’t make money directly for the company.

I informed everyone Shailesh was next. I also told you that there would be more that leave after that, in protest of AC putting the worst person in charge.

WARN act applies to single site layoffs there are many ways to get around having to report that. Too many people think it’s going to save them somehow but in reality it’s rarely used because the policy and requirements are full of holes.

What about today? Is today the worst day of your life?

Wow, that’s messed up.

So I was sitting in my cubicle today, and I realized, ever since I started working, every single day of my life has been worse than the day before it. So that means that every single day that you see me, that's on the worst day of my life.

How did the Brazilian person end up on the managing committee and how is he any better than Jennie Carlson? At least Jennie cared about her people.

Hello Peter, what's happening? Ummm, I'm gonna need you to go ahead come in tomorrow. So if you could be here around 9 that would be great, mmm-k. Oh, oh, I almost forgot. Ahh, I'm also gonna need you to go ahead and come in on Sunday too, kay. We ahh lost some people this week and ah, we sorta need to play catch up.

I'm really getting worried about 2025. I'm just an individual contributor, but I keep hearing about big expense cuts next year. Anyone have the inside word? WARN act levels?

I believe between Labor Day and Halloween, too. I believe CRE will be gone Oct 31st, which will further cripple this poorly run and hugely expensive “hub” conversion. We had our first strategies meeting and it did not go well.

Talent assessments, hilarious. In my department, people had to interview all over again for their jobs because the senior leader in charge convinced everyone that it wasn’t his incompetence that was holding the department back, it was the people he had hand picked for the roles a few years back!

The only talent contained in middle management is the ability to yearly sell to upper management how more RIFs and re-orgs will improve this mess.

If upper management eliminated the completely useless middle, millions can be saved and absolutely nothing lost.

Layoffs are being disguised as talent assessing.

August is a very popular month for vacations, especially for people with kids. No surprise that the chatter has quieted down a bit.

I have no inside knowledge, but my hunch is that if changes are in store, they might happen during the period between Labor Day and Halloween.

I hope I'm wrong.
