Thread regarding Capital One layoffs

When will anti-caste discrimination laws come to VA ?

Anti caste discrimination laws are in place in California, following Seattle.
https://www.axios.com/local/seattle/2023/03/27/seattles-caste-discrimination-law

This is a very important step in countering a massive inequality that the Indian diaspora brings to the west.

No, this isn't a woke issue - it's very real.

C1 and most of the large corporations that hire a large number of Indians perpetuate this problem. While there are a lot of talented Indians - a large chunk of them get their chances due to their caste affiliations, friends & family connections, and regionalism. I call this Nepotism++.

Please speak up if you are affected by this at C1.

I was. There was no recourse. HR doesn't care. That was one of the reasons I left.
To add to that I am an atheist - so that opens people like me to gross abuse.
Indians claim they want equality - but not for atheists, muslims, christians, or lower castes. Only for their religious friends and family.

To the American workers who lose their jobs and complain about losing it to Indians, the truth is that you are losing your jobs to the religious and casteist fundamentalists of India. You should do your own research and speak up. Cleaning this up impacts the future of your next generation too.

Speak up.

You obviously didn't read the title or topic of this thread.
The Indian community is acknowledging discrimination within its own ranks and people are commenting on that.
What does wokeness or anti-wokeness have anything to do with it?

The previous poster is 100% correct. Calling out the “wokeness” doesn’t make you a racist. I worked for Capital One over 20 years before I left, and the whole culture is why I left. There was no “woke” until after 2020. I come to work to get a paycheck. I don’t need your made up, fake pro nouns shoved down my throat. They talk about Diversity, but if you’re white and have an opinion that differs from the wokeness Cap One has become, then they call you racist. It’s bullsh-t. I don’t give a f*ck what’s between your legs, or what delusional world you live in, but I also shouldn’t have it shoved down my throat. If a person can’t talk about politics or religion at work because some pu--y will cry about it to HR, then don’t force me to live in the false reality the wokeness is.

@7lvk+1ox7q2Qu C1 is a bad place because of bad whites only management with a s*rewed up stacked ranking system that te--orizes new comers and talented people and incentivizes the buddy system. Whites and browns both take advantage of it.

The main thread is about a specific issue within the Indian community.

You are trying to hijack it by making it a right ding talking point against wokeness. Your kind are honestly the ones damaging this country. Its always stupid buzzwords for the right ding dongs. Get educated, read books and learn philosophies outside of kaykaykay and religious texts and grow ba--s to see the truth about your own kind. Or leave this country to the Native Americans and go back from whatever pale hellholes you dingleberries came here from.

@7lvk+1ox7q2Qu is the woke in the room with you right now? Show me on the doll where the woke touched you.

Woke issues are very real. And they are ruining many companies, Capital One, included. Disney looked like the FTC was going to have to break them up just 7 years ago. Now, they are hemorrhaging money, desperate to sell off most of the assets they purchased under Iger.

@7dhw+1ox7q2Qu The last / Family name gives away the cast.
It also gives away the region they are "originally" from for the most part.

How do you even tell what caste someone is in? Can't they just lie?

Yeah we don’t need to say “Indians bad” to understand the perverse incentive structure inherent in the H1B visa program. Go figure tech would be on the forefront of outsized profits and outsized labor exploitation though. C1 is just trying to fake it till they make it.

@5yqi+1ox7q2Qu You realize that the CEO and the majority of the executive board of Capital One are White, right? There's no institutional anti-White discrimination when the institutional controllers are White bro. If you wanna talk about how it's often cheaper for corporations to exploit high skill non-citizen engineers and other workers as opposed to US citizens, then you need to blame capitalism for that.

It is NOT discrimination as long as it is directed at white males. It is impossible for a minority to be racist or discriminatory.

right after the anti-white and anti-american discrimation laws come to VA

@1frb+1ox7q2Qu that would be a very harsh generalization.

I am pretty sure there are Brahmins in Richmond and elsewhere who don't care about others' religion or caste and treat people well. I had a few colleagues who fall in that category and they have my respect So we shouldn't lump everyone in the same category. Trying to cancel one wrong with another doesn't make sense.

But in the absence of any law or any accountability for their actions, these small groups of bad apples will find no reason to change their behavior.
Some behavioral changes come from within, and some are kept under control by legal repercussions. We need strong laws and applications of those laws justly.

The Richmond Mafia needs to be dealt with because they subscribe to groupism and keep their cliques alive by getting rid of new comers. C1's stack ranking and calibration system enables them. So, that's the starting point to fixing C1.

I get it. Brahmins at Capone are part of the Richmond Mafia. They take their backward caste system with them to another country.

110% experienced this in my over 2 decade stint. I kept a spreadsheet for one 'leader' I reported to in total for over 10 years and the only folks with promotions in a decade were Indian men and women. Another person of the same minority racial background as the 'leader', was promoted and left the department and was managed out as soon as the review cycles did their thing under a new management. I did my best to take advantage of the whole place once I finally realized that it was a permanently broken. I am sorry things continue on this path. It is up to the individual if they want to try to make a go of it like this.
