Thread regarding Oracle Corp. layoffs

Fear Mongering Trolls

During the real layoffs a few years ago, I looked at this forum daily. The forum itself caused more anxiety than providing actual details.

I thought I would check in today after a year of not looking to see how it is going.... Still the same type of annoying "doomsday coming" posts. Oracle right now is fairly stable, yes there are movements, but there always will be.

There are a lot of smaller company’s that pay alot more, treat employees well if, you can imagine that. Incentives for advancement makes waking up each morning nice! Does not take long to realize that getting unstuck from the negativity is worth the risk.

OP is just upset that she/he is on "the list".

The OP seems to leave out a lot. Stable, as in I can work this worthless job for a worthless manager and make whatever and no matter what I do, I’m not going anywhere. They won’t let me go cause they don’t even know if they need me.

Since leaving oracle I saw more promotions at two companies 1/10th the size of oracle than I did in 15 years at oracle. Not saying oracle is bad cause for many of the non tech and no desire to even learn, it’s great. Press buttons all day and do mindless no value work but get paid to eat and have bennies.

The OP is an arrogant and ignorant bozo. Has no clue at all about Oracle nor about the lack job security for many at Oracle. Probably either an HR plant or
one of those “management butt-kissing” types.

So let me get this straight, you have not been on this forum for over a year, but you can now come on and pontificate about its contents? Interesting.

Every social media platform has its trolls, and the best way to deal with them is to ignore their writings. I honestly thought that this goes without saying, but apparently it doesn’t, at least not for the @OP. It’s not trolls and empty ‘doomsday coming’ posts that you should pay attention to, but all those posts in between.

And if the @OP was paying any attention to what was actually said last year, he would have read some important info shared here weeks before the layoffs actually occurred.

I do not agree with OP. Seems he is living in his on small world in ORCL. OP needs to make some connections across divisions to get real information.

Now a days layoffs happens silently ORCL does not get negative press. I have observed this trend from many years now. I am not sure which team you belong or you are not well connected across multiple divisions.

If you do not like it here, do not come here.
