Thread regarding Humana Inc. layoffs

Do you participate in Associate Engagement Surveys?

I heard this surveys aren’t anonymous. Do you change in your managers behavior after the survey?

They claim they are, but everyone should know those survey's are NOT anonymous at all. What is put down can come back to haunt you later on

The AE surgery was supposed to start on Monday July 18. No explanation yet. This doesn’t feel like a good sign.

This is a survey to evaluate your level of indoctrination. you will be assimilated resistance is futile..

That is incorrect. The surveys are completely anonymous.

Correct. PTO just converts into your short-term disability account after you have accrued your maximum PTO amount. Your PTO continues to accumulate in that account.

After four weeks of PTO it goes into short term disability.

@5lqr+1hzOHwx1, they can however cap your PTO at a certain rate and say use it or lose it. Which is exactly what they are doing! Capping PTO bank at a years accrual and not a year and two weeks will indeed save money when people leave, if they have banked that much! Most people do not let it accrue past 240-259 hours!

So Humana cannot tell you when to take your PTO or how much to have accrued and not used. They may want you to take your PTO but by law they cannot tell you. If they do try that then there would be a good class action lawsuit.

You can see your rate increase in Workday now.

At minimum, the engagement survey is delayed this year. It may be cancelled altogether.

I have heard rumors of RIFs during July and August. Are the annual salary increases not happening? I was told they start this month.

If we are sold I guess that’s why they’re not sending out the engagement surveys.

Sounds like we’re gonna be sold or merge with somebody

Unpaid PTO is a liability on the financials. Reducing the amount of PTO to be paid out when say the company may be for sale again or layoffs are needed makes the financial books look better. Makes you wonder what management has planned for later this year or next that all those excess PTO days need to be off the books by May 2023.

Get Ready to be very disappointed come 2023. PTO Banks shrink by 2 weeks and there will be no salary increases until 2024. I know a lot of associates that are very unhappy about the PTO bank decreasing. Before an HR person responds, yes we still accrue the same yearly amount but many people like to keep a cushion for unexpected events.

I heard rumblings that associate engagement surveys wouldn’t be sent out this year…. I guess maybe upper management figured associates are going to respond negatively to the changes like delaying raises and the RIFs

I was a supervisor and we NEVER found out what the responses were from any of the associates. Could I guess based on my discussion my with my associates? Absolutely!

Was in HR previously - The leaders don’t have access to the identity of how each person responded but that information is available to HR to view.

Thank you for your response last poster, but I have to respectfully disagree.

I absolutely disagree that the surveys aren’t anonymous. I was a manager for several years and was absolutely not told who did or didn’t complete surveys, let alone each associate response. If you have less than 4 associates, your results roll up so you can’t even guess. Also in terms of longevity, I have taken ten surveys and have rated 1-2s, and am still here getting great performance evals.

Can't talk about Humana, but I decided that I wasn't going to bother filling out an "anonymous" yearly survey at the company that I was working for. Supposedly, there were no identifiers, but my manager had no trouble tracking me down a few weeks later and asking me to fill to out.

Some tips to for longevity at Humana. 1) Never ever include a negative comment in the reply. Better yet, Don’t leave comments.

  1. Only 4 and 5 for your ratings. 1&2 are traced back to the responder. You will be labeled a trouble maker; poor performer and not a team player.
  2. The survey is not anonymous, see 1&2 above for what triggers identifying the negative respondent.
