Over the past 6-8 years we’ve seen yearly layoffs across Humana. Maybe longer than that. Are layoffs right around the corner? If so what departments? Notices usually come in late October. People should not be caught off guard at the holidays! Any leaders willing to divulge PITAs or entire department eliminations?

Oh blessings to you. The rest of us are not far behind. How is Humana going to make it without sales agents.
Well, they let me go yesterday. Only 2-3 team members were hitting numbers. The rest of the team is struggling. People are struggling to make the same incentives they made last year :( I read some agents were switch to 1099 and other agents were offered severance packages.
@5krw+1ovYHeA5- you are absolutely correct!!! BB and his cronies must continue to make 50k an hour!
Ref “budget”- don’t forget the need for the “top tier C level” needs to safe guard their stock options and bonuses. Check out the proxy statement on C level overall comps. It’s bottom line driven and the top tier get to pocket most after RIFs.
when budgets are done for the year by the lead, they are looking at how much money is there for raises, and figuring out who gets what, and also budgeting in regard to positions that will be gone, or changes in the team, so, yes….many times the leads know what changes are coming. And, it’s hard to be in that position
"Fear mongering" vs 'Reality" - You may want to venture out to the Optum or UHG layoff forum to do a reality check. One of poster stated over 500+ got RIFs over a call, everyone was told its their last day. Ethical? No. Legal? They lawyered up to set the stage to justify. Not even "WARN" act held these orgs accountable.
There are mergers between UHG/Humana if not soon finalized. When you provide "political contributions" from the "Big Guy" anything is possible. Check out the history behind UHG/CHANCE merger/acquisition... Many thought its a case of anti-trust until approved by a single judge...Yes, many folks from CHANCE got the RIFs...
It’s not meant to be fear mongering. The reality is they are moving the business into certain arenas and they will be phasing out other areas
Just stop the fear mongering will you!
Maybe, but Humana already knows who they’re going to lay off in the next six months.
With Humana suing the US government to block the Medicare Advantage clawback rule, how does that impact us as employees? Would layoffs be coming down against any of the Medicare department if the lawsuit doesn’t go toward Humana’s favor?
What departments have you heard rumors about being RIF
All I've heard is rumors there will be more layoffs but no fact. Frankly, I'm hoping I get riffed because I'm exhausted worrying about when (not if) it will happen. The constant rifs over years has made Humana a 4 letter word as far as I'm concerned. I wish everyone the best whatever happens.
Do you think they would layoff t&s right after dialer training and sending equipment though?
Usually on the 24th of a month they will send notices out. August 24 they let the sales department go and Behavioral Health UM Social Workers. I’m expecting to hear something October 24. In Triage & Support.
Agreed 100%! I believe they are waiting to lay the dept I work in off at the end of Q3. This would also be when we get paid out bonus etc (Oct 31). I would be surprised if they kept us until the end of the year. Our higher ups have already said we aren't hitting numbers. It's a waiting game at this point.
