Thread regarding Humana Inc. layoffs

Terrible interview experience

Is this a good company to work for? I have a nice position at a fortune 50, but I’m looking for new opportunities. I had an interview with Humana scheduled, but they cancelled 2 days before and said they will need to reschedule for a future date, but offered no more clarity or communication on a future date. They moved my Workday status backwards from interview to screening in progress.

RUN!
DO NOT WALK...
DO NOT ENTER, CONSIDER, CHANGE YOUR LIFE FOR THEM!
GTHO & SAVE YOURSELF FROM EVER ENTERING OR BEGINNING WITH A COMPANY LIKE THIS.
IF YOU THINK THE INTERVIEW WAS BAD...JUST WAIT TILL THE DAILY...
YOU WILL BE GLAD YOU NEVER GOT TO HUMANA...

Where do you make 160k a year? What role? I think we are all under paid!

I didn’t. I make 160k at my current gig - probably twice what the recruiter makes - I withdrew my application. I have too much dignity to be treated like just a number in such a dysfunctional process. From reading other threads on here, Humana doesn’t sound like a good company to work for or a good fit for me. I’ll keep looking.

On the other hand, I had a quick and efficient interview process, and have worked at Humana for over a decade, and have been through the interview process with different jobs I had had. Did you reach out to the recruiter about the change in status?

My opinion is that it isn't a good time to work at Humana. There has been mass layoffs and will probably be more. Also to be noted here is my own take from interview experience. The recruiter/hiring manager was not 100% with my and the role. For example, they told me the reason the role was open was because the person before me was promoted into another position. That was true. However what they didn't tell was the territory I was taking over did historically awful as it was a new territory had had little to in some cases no contracts to gain business (not fault of my own/or skill-set) I found out as they had me into my first month reach out to the person that got moved into a different role. She told me she never hit her numbers, never got bonuses or support so went to a field role. Therefore I was blindsided when I started the role over a year ago. Again, this was only my experience and have heard good things about the company as well.

Now if you are in a position where you need to take a role, for the sake of paying your bills. Take whatever you can to provide for your family. However, Humana nothing is stable or secure right now. Do some research on Humana getting out of commercial business and recently and laying off Marketpoint/Medicare advantage. There are a lot of changes right now that make things unpredictable.

Good luck to you and I hope you find what you are hoping for in a role.
