GTS is part of VGS effective Jan 1, and no longer apart of GN&T. If GTS had planned cuts, they could do them after the Kick Off, but nothing to stop them from doing notification before that to get them out of the way.

The GTS all hands in early in the morning on 2/2. Would they really do rifs in GNT with all hands going on around the same time?

Ooooooh, an angry little worker bee.

Rif is coming soon. How do you think they'll cut capital 25% (publicly announced by Hans) without an unusually large riff?

No fu----g rift is coming. Stop fu----g spreading rumors that’s all this site does . You all haven’t been right about sh-t. Fu----g unbelievable

—————————————————

Get your head out of the sand. Verizon does layoffs every year if not twice per year. The last layoff was announced on this site and it was correct. The rumors you see on hear have come true 100% of the time. Just because you weren’t let go the last does not mean other people weren’t. It’s hard to hear I know, but you’re not working towards retirement at Verizon, you’re working towards your severance. Get your head out of the sand, get your resume squared away, and be prepared. F Verizon, you’re loyal to them but I can guarantee they will never be loyal to you. You are just a number in their finance game, start being loyal to yourself instead of a corporation

Feb 2nd is the RIF date. There are organizational announcements scheduled for the week of the 9th after the RIF announcements have been made. I can't speak to all of the groups impacted but GN&T is in the crosshairs.

@4zsu

The list is part of the "Older Workers Benefit Protection Act Report - Employees Eligible for the Severance Program".

It lists the RIFd employees Job Title, Salary Band, and Age as well as the name of their Exec Dir and Dir.

"When you are RIFd, there will be a report listing the title and age of those RIFd and who they reported to."

No there isn't - not at your level. VP's and HR will have that list, not anyone getting Rif'd!

I’m surprised there isn’t more talk or “sources” that are saying what parts of the business are being impacted. I know it’s likely VCG but what channels aside from GNT/IT are likely to get hit? Any speculation? Ops, Indirect, SM? Anyone hearing anything regarding this?

If you are RIFd, particularly if you are in GTS/IT, download the corporate directory (management) from VP/Exec Dir down.

Put name, title, salary grade in a spreadsheet.

Add two columns - Gender and Indian - populate those columns. If you aren't sure, take your best guess.

Determine the percentage Indian/Non-Indian and Male/Female for each Salary Grade (5, 6, 7, 8).

In GTS/IT, you may see that 90+% of Salary grade 5 (Directors/Distinguished Engineers) are Male and Indian (if not 100%). You may also see that 90+% of Salary grade 8 (Engr 1 and 2) are Female and Non-Indian.

When you are RIFd, there will be a report listing the title and age of those RIFd and who they reported to. Try to determine who they are - name, race, gender.

If 75+% of an organization is Indian and ALL/MOST of the people RIFd are non-Indian, that's a problem for Verizon.

If you are female and more than half the people RIFd are female (in a male dominated organization), that is an even bigger problem for Verizon.

Consult with an Employment Lawyer ASAP to see if you have a case.

Don't trust HR to make sure a RIF is fair and balanced (gender/race). They only look at diversity numbers at a high level. They are getting kickbacks as well.

The RIF is Thursday this week. Everyone impacted will be communicated to prior to 9 AM local time. Off payroll date is 3/31. I am not privy to overall numbers, but I do know there will be a 10% reduction in VCG.

Thursday, 2/2 at 9am eastern is GNT kickoff. Doubt they would do it that morning so it's looking more and more like 2/16 is d-day.

Hey now, it's open season on Verizon employees! Fasten yer seatbelt, 2023 is gonna be more of the same. Hans and company are so disrespectful of Verizon rank and file.

C’mon HR probably just wants you do get your volunteer hours in and enjoy the new wellness stuff. Help them hit their metrics.

I believe the 1 BILLION dollar IT outsourcing contract Verizon gave to Infy in late 2018/2019 is up at the end of this year. With inflation, Infy would probably want 2 Billion for another 5 years of doing nothing while VZ stock price continues to fall.

Instead of laying off Verizon employees, maybe Hans should just dump all the contractors.

I believe it. This site, as absurd as some of the comments can be, was bang on about the layoffs in Q4. Had a head start to look for a new job and let others know.

They cut at least that amount last quarter. You can pull headcount from the quarterly statements (you don't have to speculate). Here is the data:
Total employees 09/30 was 119.4, and 12/31 was 117.1
This is the NET amount, so this includes hires and attrition.
I would expect the same type of movements this year, it is amazing how low the headcount is getting these days...

It’s funny how there are people on here that don’t believe posts like this but they are true 100% of the time. Layoffs happen at Verizon every single year if not twice per year.

I don’t believe it. 2500 people in wireless out of 70,000 wireless employees isn’t much. Coordinating layoffs take time.
