Let go this morning, senior manager supply chain
"I've been unofficially notified that I'm gone. I got selected unofficially because of my age not because of underperformance. So there you go, something is happening this week.
Good luck everyone."
I'm in Network Assurance, this was divulged to me weeks ago that this was going down. Kind of weird, noticed a new hire announced in another state in my region.
I met my new director a couple weeks ago and basically put myself up to volunteer. I expect my old director kept me around after they absorbed my headcount to have someone to RIF so I’m hopeful.
Yes, 10% reduction across all Verizon, tomorrow, Wednesday. Major outsourcing to India/Mexico
10% reduction across the board, all Verizon. Major notifications happening tomorrow, Wednesday.
For the benefit of collective awareness, if you know for certain of areas and numbers, please add the high level org acronym like VCG, OP/OO, etc...
Appears notifications are starting to go out early and advised Wednesday is work from home. Guess I’ve spent the last day in office. 30 day vacation and decent package. Won’t
be around for coming stress and will enjoy the summer. Good luck for those that remain.
What org are you in??
My Senior Manager called me this morning and asked if I still want to volunteer for a RIF. I told him yes and he said ok I will pass it on because there is a layoff this Thursday.
@4vtv+1mGPdstN Which department are you in?
@4rxh+1mGPdstN I’m sorry to hear that. Which department are you in?
I've been unofficially notified that I'm gone. I got selected unofficially because of my age not because of underperformance. So there you go, something is happening this week.
Good luck everyone.
Anyone heard anything about VGS or GTS? No all hands invites here.
Verizon stock has dropped 30% since a year ago. You can guarantee radical steps are coming and wokeness will likely be receding. 30% is a lot in one year for widows and orphans stock. Expect consolidations and big cuts.
Something is happening. VCG is having an all employee webcast Wednesday, and in the afternoon on Wednesday we all got an email for BlueJeans meeting that is titled Business Update
I have 3 all hands meetings with different levels of the org between tomorrow and Wednesday... not expecting another VSP but something is happening
Starting to doubt their will be any RIF other than the low volume pinpoint ones that occur throughout the years
Based on financial results of past quarters, competitor results, macro economics, and executive performance, 10% reduction across the board announcement this week seems very possible.
They should slash half the digital team. Those folks don’t even work. They just steal cred from others
I sure miss Diego and KB.
The information about Michelle Miller’s CX team is wrong. About 300 people vs. 1000. Not In OP&OO. Focused on CX for all customer journeys, promos, web, and app. They had significant cuts last round.
I can see a re-org of OP&OO yes, but not the entire department being shut down. There are so many groups that are so pertinent to the every day operation of the company. Forecasting, call volume, routing, reporting etc. Re-Org I can understand, but the entire org shut down don't see that happening
Was just announced that head of OP&OO is leaving the company. If that isnt writing on the wall for OP&OO, I dont know what is
OP&OO are going to be gutted very soon. Hearing the whole org might be closed down
About 1,000 employees each likely making $100k+/year. $100M+ - per - year!
What are we getting for that? Do you feel like our internal and external systems provide a good customer experience?
Seems there are many groups that talk about “CX” in Verizon. Didn’t know there was an official CX group. Where are they - who runs it?
Should be the CX group. Biggest area in OP&OO where (over) spend has produced no results. No movement in NPS.
It's coming sometime.
Expecting big. 5k plus get the boot in the next round. Curious to see the final number. Hope all who want package get their pass off the titanic.
What a sad state of affairs. We went from Best to Worse. Attract good talent and hire the best and brightest was our moniker. So what do they do? They hire a sub par CEO who practically ruined another company, was investigated, and tanked their stock. He was FIRED for gods sake! What were they thinking was going to happen? Ok BOARD, take off the rose colored glasses, it’s time to admit you were duped. I would go out on a limb and say that the CEO is a fraud that knows how to talk the talk, but look at what is happening right before your very eyes. Don’t believe the sh1t he is spewing, you are in the midst of one of the worse performances this company has ever seen. And talent continues to leave in droves.
Any huge cuts due to company financials will hit the stock hard.... so don't expect an @OP bloodbath. Cuts, yes. Deep, highly doubtful. Some groups will get hit harder than others, and it could be anywhere - even areas that have already been through them.
It’s happening. Stay ready so you don’t need to get ready.
Directors have already been notified.
It has to be stores... they have a 75% off fire sale happening in all retail locations on accessories. That's like a liquidation or going out of business sale. We have 2 plans now A or B... so vcg, ops, Corp stores should be worried because any vendor (store/ call center) can easily explain and sell these plans. So basically if it doesn't happen now, then by end of year for sure. I'd have to think now though to save money on buildings and rent for stores.
What departments? When are directors being notified if their groups are getting impacted?
It’s happening on Wednesday for sure it be WFH for most while they cut the cord.
You cats are delusional, Verizon is in trouble, big trouble financially speaking. They need to cut heads, it the only lever left to pull to reduce expenses. Look for at least 15%, I get it, most employees will continue to bury their heads in the sand, but this is serious.
OP seems like you already know…Bloodbath!
