Fiserv discloses 7% drop in workforce

https://www.paymentsdive.com/news/fiserv-headcount-drop-employees-workforce-cuts-payments/643908/

"Fiserv’s global headcount dropped about 7% last year as the company cut 3,000 employees, on a net basis, and shed business units as it strived to bolster profitability.

The payments and financial technology company had about 41,000 employees worldwide as of the end of last year, according to its annual report filed last week with the Securities and Exchange Commission. That’s down from 44,000 at the end of the 2021."

Don't forget about all the robots in your counts. They are in WD. So the numbers are way off and they don't truly report layoff.

Lol. Of the book employees? Paying people under the table? Taking out some kneecaps? Blink once if you are in danger.

I wouldn't put anything past the "goodfellas" running this company into the ground.

Ok I will bite what 'legal entities'. Contractors? building maintenance staff? FB housekeepers, bodyguards? Acquistion these look to be in WD. Be transparent with associates and stockholders.

Missing staff from Workday are not Fiserv employees they bring no value to our clients mission.

The 35,000 in workday does not include all legal entities —- when all are included you are closer to 41,500

Non sense. The report doesn’t show layoffs of 10k+ US employees and hiring associates in India. I am so happy to be short FISV at $118. I do the strict minimum at work, absolutely the strict minimum.

Its layoff season so everyone is doing it. AFAIK the people who worked on projects that were in red numbers were let go. Mainly in US because, for the same salary you can later employ multiple people in EMEA or India. Also last year there was article that Fiserv outsourcing from US will continue in 2023.

This line is crazy to me

In last year’s filing, the company said about 18,000 of its employees were based outside the U.S. For 2020, that figure was 17,000, and in 2019, it was 16,000

That’s more than 50% of the workforce based out of the 35k in Workday

Frank's approach to solving client problems is to indiscriminately lay off all of the knowledge and then cross his fingers and hope nothing goes wrong, while he counts his $500 million. Shameful, Fränkelscämmer.

Macrotrends-dot-net shows 2022 count at 41000. Most other sites use 2019 data which is the infamous 44,000 count. So inclusive of cuts not posted, the WD count of 35033 can be accurate. (They are hiring an Incident response position ----- which was the department that left on their own volition).

What explains the discrepancy between 35000 and 41000 that was filed?

W/D says 35033. 'They' must count the ones currently receiving a severance as 'employees'.
