Not for Verizon. They’ve gotten and continue to get away with murder. big money untouchable
@5jex+15PGs6v5 her husband was off work already claiming unemployment. He wasn't made to take off to take care of their child. In the leave questionnaire the question is asked if you have an alternative option for care for your child. She obviously had it since her husband was on unemployment, not to mention, she took leave and applied for another job and worked full time for this other company. So if she could work for another company from home, which was her job already with Verizon then she could've been doing her Verizon job. She was clearly taking advantage of the companies leave fraudulently.
I don't have solid numbers but when the pandemic hit many front line management applied for this benefit and got it ,while getting no outside because they both were at home and took care of the individual themselves. I know of 2 from our store. Let's see if this is true ! I highly doubt it!
It’s fraud because the husband has had to take off work to care for the kids? No, this is exactly what the benefit was set up for.
I personally know someone that has claimed the leave for daycare closure since the very beginning, the whole time she has worked on the side for another company from home doing chat cs work. So she's been getting paid by Verizon and working for another company. Oh and her husband was off work the whole time so he could have cared for their child while she worked. So yeah, this is happening and heads should roll. It's fraud!

Heads should roll! Absolutely no reason people should get paid well they sit on their asses getting paid to play video games instead of working during a pandemic. They are commenting wage theft and fraud.
If our completely inept government had tests readily available nationally, then people could get tested promptly and return to work if they’re results are negative. But that’s not the case, is it?
I’m on a waiting list to get tested, and it’s 1 week from now. It’s not my fault states’ rights have devolved into a hyperpartisan death cult.
We shouldn’t punish the people making less than 40K a year for abusing a system that has abused them for years. Maybe Verizon should have considered the potential abuses of the system that they created?
If they hadn’t opened stores so early, then maybe their employees wouldn’t be forced to manipulate COVID leave time policies?
The problem is that many Covid 19 symptoms are the same for the common cold or some type of food not agreeing with your stomach. There is ZERO way to prove someone is abusing an illness. Same way women abuse saying they are on their period or my child is sick so i must stay home. Like people have said on here before with the new one team commission combined with Covid 19 , sick days will be through the roof.
Reps say they are having shortness of breath...bam! Don’t come to work for at least 72 hours of being symptom free, several are milking that. Need a test, good luck... By the time you get an appointment and results back that’s at least another week off of work even if they get a negative result. People are just milking the system and getting paid
What exactly was/is bring manipulated ? I know several reps who are still out on child care but are now only getting 60% pay. They are also very afraid to come back to work so it works out for them.
