Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

Mr. Boss

So my Mr. Boss unfollowed me on social media on Monday. July 8. The following day (you guessed it-Tuesday after Payday)...I thought I was getting laid off or terminated. What I received was a verbal warning. Does that last 6 months? If I get laid off during those six months will that be classified as "fired" since I'm now on this 9 day old unexpected verbal warning?

Who in their right mind is friends with their boss on social media? It’s just begging for problems.

Oh it was quite hilarious when Mr. Boss unfriended me, and put me on verbal warning the very next day. Not. 🙄.
Ten days of living h-ll not to mention making uncertain times more uncertain. Some of your co-workers are suffering. Granted, I should have never been virtual "friends" with them in the first place. My bad.

@1qkq+1tzA51QO, I know that guy too. He always ends his IM sentence with "LOL". Very annoying indeed.

Make yourself private on social media, then your boss has to send you a request. My manager would stock all his direct reports on Facebook and let us know what they were doing as an agenda item on our meetings. I thought it was totally inappropriate.

I am in COO. On my team, there is a g-y program manager from Florida. Someone told me he is on a questionable social media site and dating with another colleague from the same department. I think that could cause some issues later.

LOL, I don't do social media but I always find it funny when people get upset that someone unfollowed/unfriended them. I always see as high school behavior.

"So your boss unfollowed you on social media before giving you a warning. That's very nasty on so many levels."

Yeah, that is, like, way nasty.
That is absolutely abhorrent to all things we hold true; unfollowing someone on social media. Oh the humanity.
I feel triggered, gaslit, and I need counseling to boost my self worth. Hope I will see you there so we can share stories and heal together.

For the most part, the "bosses" at Wells Fargo are not true managers.
They are facilitators, not managers They are like the dnc -- with their fingers in the di-e, holding the water back. Don't think for a moment that they are afraid that their world will crash.

Verbal warnings can be an indicator of what's to come, but if it's not documented in writing in Workday, it's a non event to HR.

It's a set up. Gathering evidence/justification. You get the drift...?

So your boss unfollowed you on social media before giving you a warning. That's very nasty on so many levels. I wonder WTH you did to upset him. Their implied questions are always "Are you with me or against me?" and "Do you know who I am?" They enjoy their power to control your fate. Look for a new job before it's too late.
