Some areas of Suntrust had slightly better tech and some areas of BBT were slightly better, overall it was a wash. The merger was supposed to allow the combined entity to upgrade technology exponentially. There have been some improvements in general but overall money spent on tech has been wasted and it is now 5 years later biting us in the ar-e. When Bill and gang of misfits sell off the parts that add capital and squander that in two years he’ll go find another dance partner and ride off with his “Purpose” fulfilled. When in the he-l will stockholders wake up? The efficiency numbers and employee numbers are a smoke screen covering the deep problems Bill and his gang have created. Kelly’s been gone long enough you can’t blame it on his d-mbarse any longer.
SunTrust had the technology advantage. The problem is BBT did not want to integrate it, scrapped it, and went with their obsolete tech
SunTrust's yes men sold the lie to BBT that they had good technology. That's probably part of why they had to write a loss in the books for last year.

Kelly King is both, with an additional trait that makes him extremely dangerous. He is a combination of very low intellect with a massive ego. I love his ongoing “values” posts on LinkedIn. It really does make one wonder if the guy is clinically delusional.

Kelly thought Suntrust would propel tech forward. Those of us working at Suntrust knew it was a scam. Kelly was at best a simpleton and at worse a mo--n. Bill is a shyster and Kelly was no match for him in this regard.
