I heard layoffs went down yesterday. Hit Project Managers onshore to move offshore.

When I worked for HPE a few years ago one of the PMs from India told me their rate and it was ridiculously cheap. At the time we had US PMs in our group and I wanted to get them involved with my project but my manager said no, too much overhead. HP/HPE management has been working to get rid of US ASMs and PMs for a while.
IBM is a market leader. It is on the Dow 30 index. HP used to be on the Dow 30, therefore it used to be a market leader. But since what was being discussed happened long ago, this fact is relevant.
No worries, you were very clear, it is just that guy is the same dude that thinks HPE and IBM are market leaders.
@3vvg+1rXSgFTT I should have been clearer (if you were thinking I had abbreviated Unix as UX; something I've never done or seen) it is how my part of HPE abbreviates User eXperience. But ... what are ASMs?
Nah, jobs are bountiful.
The Job market is rough these days.
It's been no secret the ASM role was moving offshore, this has been known for several years. And they've been getting the customers used to a remote resource for a while. So its just the usual "offshore to the lowest cost country" strategy, HPE has been doing for years.
US based ASM's are not going to be a thing going forward.
Twenty-four ASMs got WFRed this week. That's all I know about.
Is Unix still a thing? If so it's been dying a slooooooooooow death.
We lost a UX guy a couple of weeks back as well to a WFR, last day was Friday.
