Thread regarding Sam's Club layoffs

Truth must be told.

First let me say this I do not care who believes this or not or how many downvotes I receive. I am not going to argue or anything.

The real reason for many departments throughout Sam's Club and Walmart being understaffed, not fixing broken equipment ( ie: Cart mule and etc.) and cutting hours is for one reason. The reason is managers care more about receiving a bigger bonus on their paycheck.

Home office gives the store managers a set amount of money for payroll and for club expenses( ie broken work equipment).

Managers cut hours, understaff departments and not fix or replace broken equipment is because the more payroll and expenses goes down the bigger managements paycheck bonus is.

Whatever else your managers tell you is a lie.

When i first started, the hardlines and meat mgr used to get huge gap bonuses. Once they stopped doing that it just became an average so so job.

@3tww Feel free to define your definition of 'good.' What do you get as a bonus compared to your associates? I'm willing to bet you get at least 10x more than all your associates combined.

Bonuses are based on 3 metrics:

Sales
MX Voices
Membership

Take from this what you will, but if you don't know how bonuses are calculated, you can just look it up instead of guessing.

Managers bonus off of sales and Mx Voices. 100% truth whether you care to believe or not. I know at my club we are 56% sales increase so far for this year and schedule 100% of the hours we are allotted.

This is 100% not true. Every Club is allocated a maintenance budget. The "tightest" Club Manager in the company could incur literally zero dollars in damages towards the building and equipment and guess what? It all goes "back to the company" if it's not used. It does NOT go to the Club Manager's bonus. CM and Manager bonuses are based on overall sales, and are measured against metrics stemming from Memberships sold, Shrink and Accidents.

it is true that thats just the way it is...but...what this really speaks to is a managers personal integrity..ie will he / she allow or in some cases deliberately cause workers to suffer. While the problem will never be overcome satisfactorily for workers one can rest assured that in some way over time negligent managers will suffer for their misdeeds. You might not get to see it but rest assured they will pay for their evils. As will we all.

I know in years past any money that could be saved on the payroll budget went directly to the club mgr bonus. I don't know if that holds true today.

It's called budgeting. It may seem unfair, but it is what it is.
