Thread regarding Oracle Corp. layoffs

Interesting files from the trial

I found some files from the Oracle trial that were pretty interesting here is an example:

https://www.dol.gov/sites/dolgov/files/OALJ//PUBLIC/FOIA/Frequently_Requested_Records/Oracle_2017_OFC_00006/Oracle_2017OFC00006_DOC_918.pdf

There are many more exhibits and testimony on the site that is public information. This is just one example. I recommend slide 28 on the linked page.

Wow. This is nuts.

Not just nuts, it's ORACLE NUTS. A patented blend of insanity, ruthlessness and greed that permeates everyone and everything. Like skunk musk.

Thanks @3rdb+1fJ6WqVA for that inside baseball view. Again, adding support to the many, many crowdsourced reviews of Oracle’s horrid management and HR practices.

O really needs a Microsoft style management change and shift in culture.

Page 28. Yea, I'm really shocked. I saw this first hand over 10 years ago. People I knew in different BU's got promoted, saw no extra money at all while their workload and accountability doubled. I was lucky and worked with some great people, including my management chain. Of course they are all gone as well as I.

Teaching management to cheat their employees.

You know, that in itself causes good managers to leave. I expect the thug managers that are left then really love this stuff. I expect they are interested in innovative ways to cheat their employees. The ones I was working for really enjoy hurting people. It's their thing, you know. Sadistic abuse. Those are the managers that hang out for the opportunities to abuse employees at oracle. The good ones go to decent companies.

Do yourself some good and get out of Oracle.

The slide which details the promotion process and which includes the guidance that promotions are not always accompanied by salary increases is a bit of an eye-opener. Well, only for those who haven't experienced it themselves I suppose.

“ When you’re making an offer, make the final career level determination based on the candidate’s experience and skill set. The career level may differ from the level of the posting – one level up or down is allowed with no additional posting requirements.”

Sh|t would be so much easier if companies just posted the salary along with the job description. For everyone.

And yeah, page 28. Just in case people think all the Glassdoor postings and eye opening stuff posted here is in doubt.
