They need to start paying hazard pay again soon, otherwise guys will be calling out sick just to avoid COVID-19 uptick

If these management mo–ns on this post had their way, they would say that the projects of NYC are safe, and you don’t need a second person, and the PPE to reduce the potential for COVID-19 transmission. Most probably have never been near the projects. Hazard pay is the only thing that Verizon would understand about the risks field techs face on a daily basis.
Go into the projects in nyc with guns and covid everywhere and let me know what you think

To the post below, I don’t work there because I accepted the retirement package. I am a union member, but I also know the company won’t give a sh*t about you or your family contracting covid. If you are lucky, they will give you 2 weeks to quarantine, or more likely, use your own sick time. My last 3 words on this subject is:

You seem to hate Verizon so much, why are you working there? Why do you work for a company that you clearly hate and despise! I know the answer! You don't! You are just a union plant and you are not even an employee.
I don’t care if no one has caught covid at work. All field techs are potentially exposed to covid from lying customers, or other techs that just click true on the back to office questions on a daily basis. The company only does things for one reason, their pockets. If they’re getting money or tax breaks from the government, they pay hazard pay. When I left the company last week, my manager had little or no PPE. Couldn’t provide any to me or my partner who is still there waiting. The second level keeps it locked in his office, and hands it out based on what he thinks you need. Doesn’t follow cdc guidelines. It’s not a situation of not having enough. Just a control freak. If the company wants BAU, make them pay until people are vaccinated.
To the typical person who says we don’t need hazard pay. Why are all office workers not in there work locations and working from home. Why did Verizon at 1 point give hazard pay for this and now when it’s spiking up again no pay. Your in a store you shouldn’t get but if your in someone’s house for hours on end installing Fios you should get it.
So far there have been no Verizon employees spreading COVID around in the work place. There has not been a single case of COVID contracted or spread at any Verizon business locations. It's also Verizon's policy that every employee can refuse to serve any customer if they don't feel safe. Last week we refused a customer that would not wear a mask.
There is no reason to give any Verizon employee hazard pay as the company has provided every employee with PPE and has policies in place to insure the workplace is safe. For example no employee is just allowed to go to an office. YOU must check in to the back to office tool each day and check off that you are clean, safe and not infected. Office spaces etc. must adhere to strict Covid rules.
As others have posted here and I will echo it. So the need, the data to support you need hazard pay with data that we all can verify. There is no data to back up the need for such payment. In fact in two months this issue will be mute as the vaccine is spread among the populous. I for one will take the vaccine so I don't have to ever worry about this issue again and get my life back!

Still waiting for the proof that Verizon employees at contracting COVID at work... Where is this proof! If no one at Verizon is getting COVID at Verizon offices then there is no need to pay someone hazard pay.

You people are the ones begging for hazard pay in which you can't point to a single Verizon employee getting the virus at a Verizon work location. I see no hazard at my work location at Verizon and I am given all the PPE I need to protect myself much better than the general public I might add. I have N95 mask, hand sanitizer, wipes and the authority to refuse a customer if I feel it's not safe. So again, were is the hazard? There is way more hazard going to the store to buy groceries then my work location at Verizon. So are you people wanting hazard pay to go shopping now? I find a lot of you people to be childish and simple minded and also very selfish.
