How is it that a company of our size cannot pay their employees correctly? Every week someone paycheck is wrong and it is very frustrating to deal with when the person making the mistakes still has a job. I thought one of our values was accountability.

Of course they have different bonus plans, more than one. RG has a guaranteed bonus.

Why do we waste money on things like the Voice survey and consultants, while execs at the same time punish people for openly trying to deal with difficult issues which are alredy clear?

RE: Why is RG allowing some of the same tragic mistakes that were made at FHEG to now be made at FSS? Cleaning house over at FSS has begun. Hopefully a sign of better things to come.

So far, not so great. Never good when children are given very sharp scissors. If cleaning house means welcoming in a fresher and Tinderized culture -- swipe quick yes/no, move on, little intellectual depth or honesty and bad consequential decisions already, all while looking backwards rather than forwards, well then I guess you can say better.

My question is, are top corp execs bonused on other than performance? That might explain the heads down, don't dare ask the freshers any hard questions, just run crazy like a chicken, say 'Yes' and pretend everything is super for as long as we can mentality. Perhaps for some people, it's about simply collecting a paycheck as long as possible.

Identify specific strategies that you will be implementing to turn this company around. We have heard enough about included. What else do you have to offer?

If you think you're being treated like shit, leave. It's not hard. Take the plunge. It will be scary at first, but it's the best career move I've ever made. Follett is going no where. The parellels between Nebraska and Follett are so similar it's eerie. Buying a struggling company, benefits cut to shreds, layoffs, bad business decisions, bonus structure gone, all the while having top heavy salaries at HQ. Follett will be a shell of itself in 10 more years.

My #Townhall List - I would never have courage to ask this in person, but since I am not disclosing my identity here it goes:

  1. I am interested in executive pay - why does it keep increasing, double digits every year, and all of us have to suffer with minimal raises or no raises at all

  2. Who will be held responsible for strategic mistakes

  3. Who was approving and overseeing multi-million dollar IT projects that never went live or failed.

  4. Who is responsible for IT project budget overruns

Do you have a link to the DG article? I am interested in reading it.

Why is RG allowing some of the same tragic mistakes that were made at FHEG to now be made at FSS? Haven't we learned anything yet about promoting people who lack appropriate experience, who lead with arrogance of personal opinion rather than valuing expertise, who promote a culture of elitism and "leaking news" rather than inclusion and transparency, and who surround themselves with people who only speak 'yes'? Follett family, do you understand that you are killing the goose that has been laying your golden eggs for so many years?

Agree with below regarding DG accountability. DG should reread his 1974 UPS Accountability article and, upon reflection, resign.

How much longer will the charade that DG is still the acting President of Higher Ed last. GT getting dumped after destroying CM, GM, and Distribution reflects on the exec who hired him and allowed him to run unchecked. RG needs to announce his removal and JL and BS need to rid us of the unqualified hires polluting the morale and alienating our vendors.

Do you think it was a wise investment to spend $50+ million on remodeling someone else's building (a strange '70 style) to make One Follett while Woodridge and McHenry still house senior management?

are our clients better off with us on campus? Can their needs met more efficiently by other vendors? Are we asking customers to act outside of their best interest in doing business with us? Ask that question across the enterprise. Where it is determined we offer greater value to the customer, we must invest in that business. We must divest everything else. Or, we must close our doors. Our management has failed its customers and its employees.

Why is the bonus not based on individual division performance, goals and objectives for the employees and net income. By putting a gate on sales and always exceed last year pretty much eliminates bonuses going forward. The whole industry is declining at a rate of 6% + plush 5% inflation. These are well know for BN whose college bookstore business is now public knowledge. The revised bonus plan is not fair to employees.
