Displaced..and Re-Hired... How is end of year rating impacted?

I got displaced from a P5 position on 5/28. My mid year is "inconsistently meets"... No brainer why will a manager waste "meets" on an already displaced employee..

In the interim, I started applying and interviewing for P4 and P5 positions within WF.

My 60 day notice ended on 7/26/24. I got a call on Friday 7/26 morning from HR - they are offering me a P4 position (I had interviewed for it). But - I have to take the decision that very day. She said she has put me on administrative leave so that the system doesn't terminate me.

I still had 5-6 more P5 positions waiting for the Panel interview and requested the HR for some extra time. But as expected - HR said No, either I accept the P4 or decline it, but they cannot give me any more days other than 7/26.
Believe it or not, I had a P5 interview lined up from the same Hiring Manager and same HR - yet the HR did not give me any extra days to decide (until the interview)...

My arm felt twisted, but as I need a job, I accepted the P4 position.

My question is how to turn around the 'inconsistently meets" and get a "meets" at year end?
There is just 4 more months left.. or will I be rated "too new to rate" .. how will the bonus be impacted? Or am I not eligible for any bonus this year because of the displacement?

OP here...

@3wxa+1tLDsF1P - Exactly my thoughts... I was left with no rook for negotiation.. and I lost my only chance to get a pay rise !

@3mca+1tLDsF1P - Highly possible... I do not know yet.. If I last the year.. I wil actively start looking for a P5 but then who now if I will get any pay hike...

In the last comment I meant “the P5 work and responsibility for the P4 pay and title”, if that wasn’t clear.

This is a tangent, but since there are plenty of answers to your actual question I’m going to go ahead and say it…

You were already a P5 and were interviewing for a P5 job with the same hiring manager/hr that strong armed you into taking the P4 job… is there any chance they’re going to try and get you to actually do the P5 job for the P4 pay? I’d be on the lookout for if they actually hire that P5 in the end. If they don’t hire anyone and post another P4 instead, you may have gotten sc--wed.

Sounds like they wanted to hire you before your 60 days were up so you couldn't ask for more money. As an external candidate, you probably could've gotten 20-30% more. WF is a joke.

You are eligible for a bonus IF you get a Meets. I was displaced 5 years ago in January but worked for 30 of my 60 day notice period. I accepted a STAR (no longer available, thanks Charlie) job in April. STAR positions didn’t qualify for a review or bonus, but because I’d worked until mid-February, I qualified for 6-weeks’ worth of a bonus and my former manager had a write a review for those few weeks.

Been thru lots of calibrations in my life. “Basically been quietly told some groups don’t have higher standards for p5 and they group everyone together in calibrations. “
If a p4 is doing xyz level work and a p5 the same any HR group training to the eaters with any credibility will rate the p4 higher. Maybe both are meets but if stacked p4 is higher. If not done that way then not following HR policies and certainly not fair for employees or team.

Not all orgs work this way. Basically been quietly told some groups don’t have higher standards for p5 and they group everyone together in calibrations. Pretty cr-ppy, but it is how it is in some groups.

My expectations of my p5s is higher than my expectations of my p4s. In other words an inconsistently meets for a p5 is a meets for a p4 most of the time. Thus it shouldn’t hurt you.

As for the rest, did you think he is your friend? Sorry about that. A job right now is better than no job.

You actually only have about 2 months left.

To get meets, jump in and get to know your boss and colleagues and make yourself invaluable to them. Document everything you do and complete.

Since you weren't actually displaced and deleted from the system yet, should be able to still qualify for bonus; however, I would not put it past them to put you as too new to rate as that will lower the bonus paid to you. Maybe have a conversation with the hiring mngr about the other job they have that was higher level?
