Thread regarding Truist Bank layoffs

No more layoffs this year

I think we can assume we're done with layoffs for the year? I'm new here, but I'm going to assume that Truist doesn't lay off people so close to holidays.

Confirming @3hhy+1vrNRMSO

My team was laid off in CT&O and that was the 2nd phase there are more coming. Engineering manager had to hire a bunch of offshore ppl and train them "they are also being laid off and don't know it yet" they pretty much know what's about to happen though. This included our automation and scripting guys as well, they had no plans to replace them so not sure how they plan on doing "Business as Usual" without that but doesn't really matter because the offshore replacements know nothing about the role or have skillsets in them that are remotely near what the bank already had so it almost feels like purposeful sabotage. Knowing this, existing teams training don't care and do the bare minimum if not completely dodge questions. I've seen some just say "Yeah sure whatever" to pretty much anything being asked during training so they leave them alone and get as little info from them as possible, even if it's wrong info. They went after the lower to average skillsets in the 1st part of the reorg, now the higher skillsets are next. The goal is to offshore ANYTHING that can be done overseas, again this aligns with a 2025 bank sale/merger. Worked for several banks and this is these are normal red flags for mergers, shouldn't be surprising to anyone but EL will make off with millions while the rest of us eat dirt, I'm not in a position to change it so it is what it is.

I suspect more RIFs will be announced in 2024. Wait for the upcoming CT&O re-org announcement. Managers will probably be gone as well as engineer level FTEs.

This re-org has been talked about for months. No re-org ever happens without RIFs.

My retail region leader only tells me to document things on certain BL he doesn’t like to push them out. I don’t know about layoffs but he try’s to watch seasons to use slight changes to push people out. But it’s annoying because I’m not used to such office politics and lack of integrity in leadership at the last bank I worked at.

It’s layoff all the time any time your better at a company that never does layoffs

When you work hard and contribute you usually don’t have to worry about being laid off

It’s like the media with all its insights in the elections you can’t believe them just like you have to ponder what is posted here

You don't realize that "Layoff" is like a monster in a horror movie. It never ends after several sequels.

You would be assuming wrong, hBBT and hST both have had layoffs in December in the past. Truist has continued this lovely tradition as well. These executives have no conscious so why would you think they care it is the holidays? When you only think of yourself and your minions are just numbers and expendable it doesn’t matter what time of year it is as long as you hit your fake numbers and get your big fat bonus of millions.

Don’t assume anything, November layoffs happened last year. There was a brief pause but then January 4th they came hard with the layoffs again
