Nike policy on outside working

Can anyone tells me what is Nike policy about having a second job that is completely different from Nike? Say for example I have had a recent change in my Nike salary (reduced) and now I have found a remote job that is totally different from what I do at Nike. Say for example it is a data analysis for a resturant while I am a graphic designer at Nike. Is it illegal to take the second job considering hours are not conflicting with Nike hours?
Does Nike has any policy?

@3fak+1tVWcdEu Thank you. Yeah I am not afraid of losing my job. I just never had two jobs before but I guess here I am with inflation and everything. It has been a roller-coaster with Nike this past 9 months

Why are you so worried at losing your job? We are not in 70s, there is no job safety. If you have the necessary up-to-date skills you will get another job, otherwise you do not have a chance but will always worry about what the management will do.

By rule, it’s not supposed to interfere with your role at Nike. Also, can’t be at at a competitor. However, if Nike wants to fire you they will.

Accenture, Infosys, Cognizant —- you think those resources are only working for Nike? They only appear as inept as they are because they’re working “full time” for Nike and like 20 other companies at the same time. The individuals aren’t making the $, is the company reeling in $ with all the fraud. How many times is Nike going to accept interviewing one person, but another shows up? How many times are we going to look the other way on teams of 20-40 people where the manager has 6-7-8 doing the work, a couple more they’ve heard from a few times, and don’t even know who the rest of the team is? Wake up. We’d be far better off hiring individuals and training them rather than get ripped off by the sc-mbag consulting companies

I’m stuck on the part of “reduced salary.” I was under the impression nike could not reduce employee salaries. Is this a new JD era policy?

Work your second job, keep it on the down low. For all you know HR could be plotting to lay you off. Get what you can.

Absolutely not.

Against company policy?

Probably not, especially if there is no conflict of interest. You can look up the language of the policy in the HR portal. However, many people at Nike work multiple jobs, including our executive leadership (who serve on boards for other companies and do speaking engagements).

In my opinion, it would be unethical if you were working for a direct competitor of Nike at the same time, or if you were literally working two jobs during the same hours (which some were doing during remote office times). However, outside of Nike business hours, what you do with your time is your decision. In other words, don't ask, don't tell, and take that side job. There's nothing wrong with that and nothing Nike can do, especially if you need the extra income.

(Full disclosure: I've openly had a second part-time job outside of Nike for years. Nobody has ever cared.)
