The Pittsburgh office to go through another round of downsizing, this will affect both the contractors and FTEs. It is a common occurrence at Thermofisher where they wipe off contractors from their books like they don't matter anymore.

March 15th will mark the layoff of another 15 people (DPE-IT), mostly FTEs, some even have 20 years of experience, and Yes contracts that were renewed for 2024-2025 were are also let go.
not just spreading fear here, I know people in payroll department.
go check
Why pay a contractor US rates when the work can be offshored? The work is being offshored and this will continue because it’s profitable.
So it seems that "Pittsburgh office to go through another round of downsizing" = some contractors aren't getting contracts renewed and someone wants to stir up drama and make everyone else scared and uncomfortable about their own jobs so they stirred up some drama. Got it
Is CCG affected?
Does this apply to remote employees recently moved to the Pittsburgh cost center?
Possibly IT, roles related to fishersci. Finance? Who knows. It's typical TF layoff practice. A little here, a little there all year long. Expect more through at least Q1 if financial outlook doesn't improve.
What areas are being affected? What timeline?
And are the contractors being let go early, or are their contracts simply expiring without being renewed?
