Data breach on the source

Where on the source can I find the update on the data breach?

@3blb+1t4AL8e8 Exactly right. Our clients look at us. Not some no name “leader” sitting in an office in Charlotte or Atlanta. Customers are already PI---D over what has happened to the bank. Now this and the lackadaisical response.

It’s not only employee related accounts. Clients are literally getting letters if they were affected offering free credit monitoring services and recommending opening new accounts. Not all clients. Just the ones that were affected.

Sp1d3r is looking for $1mil for the files which also includes source code for our IVR system. Don’t rely on “The Briefing Room” or what your leaders are trying to sweep under the rug.

The shi**y part is that we at the branch are having to be face to face with clients answering questions they are demanding answers to. All the while Truist hasn’t really provided anything. Those FAQs are laughable when you’re client facing and know the clients want an actual answer

From what we have seen on our list in wealth, the data breach was employee information. The people on the lists for our branch were all employee related accounts.

My personal favorite tip on what to do to help our clients was “you are not required to reach out and call clients, but you are provided this information so you can decide if contact would be appropriate.”

So we could just sit on our hands and let the clients call us (instead of being proactive) when they are already upset about what has happened to hBB&T?!

Clients are furious that they come in and there is no one from the business/commercial team to talk to or give assistance.

I think it’s only being shared internally on a need to know basis. Which is pretty ridiculous.

"Breach" makes it sound like it took more than six minutes to crack the genius that is Truist cyber security. Please.

"Was there actually a serious data breach?"

Yes, I received a letter in the mail over the weekend with details and a limited-time offer for ID theft monitoring.

"Was there actually a serious data breach?"

Google "Truist Data Breach" and start reading. Disgruntled employees didn't make this up. It's on any number data security related websites, and some non-techy websites as well. Then you can decide if it's a serious data breach.

Was there actually a serious data breach? It now has me concerned, but I can’t separate the groundswell of employee distrust and dislike of bank leadership (which I get), from the actual facts of this matter.

“If” it occurred, and is being intentionally downplayed by executive management, that is a serious issue. Instead of just complaining, wouldn’t the first course of action for those that have evidence that a breach is being swept under the rug be to alert an outside regulator?

No better place to bury it…”The Briefing Room - Stay connected to Truist’s Journey and how we’re executing with excellence for our clients, teammates, and stakeholders”….wonder if this will be mentioned in the next Purpose Corner….

It’s in the Briefing Room. There’s a link to the Briefing Room on the main page of The Source

@OP+1t4AL8e8 - It’s not on the Source and no emails have been sent out either. Executive Leadership at Truist is horrific. They should be communicating details about the data breach to employees, but of course they are not

It’ll be with the results of our last teammate engagement survey.
