Not a normal occurrence. Is the layoff wheel spinning up again?

Post Fiserv PTSD is real. I keep thinking I'm going to get laid off because we're so slow, but this what a normal workload is and they don't work us to death.
I left fisver a while back. I work with other exFiserv employees. We talk about the PTSD we have after years of the layoff roller coaster. We are calling it FTSD. Everythime an email goes to management, every time a meeting pops up, everytime a hiccup happens it we await the hr call. I had no clue how bad it was until I left.
@3asf+1lJhHqSi sorry. Yes outsiders looking at Fiserv it IS this bad everyone wants out even in THIS job market.
Unfortunately I'm still here.
So how’d it go?
I got the exact same invite some time ago. Ask me if I still work there.
That is straight up code for layoffs. I was with FD for 21 years it was SOP. Good luck.
That’s the exact way I was laid off. Random touch base meeting. Hoping it’s not for you, but after the worry of being laid off, I landed on my feet in less than a month with a much better opportunity. Good luck to you!
I can't afford a cardboard box, would a used plastic sack be appropriate?
Take the package and 2 weeks off
Hope it’s just a regular work meeting. Thinking good thoughts
Please let us know the outcome!
I received a meeting invite from my manager last year with subject “touch base”. Seconds after meeting start, a stranger joined who was from HR. This is common method for layoff. Good luck to you!! Btw getting ousted from fiserv was a blessing. Keep your head up
It could be a layoff but typically they schedule layoff meetings for the same day from what I've heard from some friends who were let go. Managers also don't seem to be finding out if any of their direct reports are laid off until the day of.
I keep a box under my desk for just such an email.
A lot of people I know who got laid off had a "touchpoint" or "touchbase" meeting thrown on the calendar before it happened. Hopefully this won't be the case for you.
You should approach everyday working at Fiserv as potentially your last - you can be laid off at any point - without warning & without reason. You are just a number on a spreadsheet
Bring a cardboard box to the meeting, just in case.
Haha. Managers should be told "Dont put Touchbase to avoid confusion!". lol
Maybe just a regular meeting with your boss to cover common things.
I put in my resignation letter Friday, I start a new job on April 4th. Been at Fiserv for almost 9 years but I refuse to drive 2 hours to an office and I am not relocating to another state that is not an option for me. If you have not started looking, START NOW. This is not Fiserv anymore it is "FIRST DATA" Fiserv in name only.
May be merit increment. Trying to stay positive I have one of those too.
