GEO restructure coming September 29th

The long awaited GEO shuffle will happen on September 29th.

I REPEAT, current APLA jobs are NOT at risk, what will happen is the following;

Current APLA teams will be broken up and absorbed into either LATAM and APAC but those employees will be able to remain in Beaverton. They will have the option to relocate to Mexico City or Shangahi but it will not be required. Nike sees value in still having people on the ground at HQ for those GEO's - so they will act as split HQ's for both WHQ and regional HQs.

This is a very exciting change that will help streamline the business a lot.

S. Uzzell will lose his job as NA VP but will be moved elsewhere. TBD

You are right that is exactly what will happen. Natural attrition will be forced upon with employees working LATAM or APAC hours.

Most with this change want LATAM because the time difference will be minimal but APAC would be a nightmare from Portland.

Buckle up - this will be a wild ride.

“Jobs will not be lost”. Yah. Ok. I’ve seen this play out before. How this will work will be yes you can be in Beaverton but you must work China hours. And eventually you will tire of this arrangement and then when you quit they will move the job to China. That way you don’t lose knowledge upfront which allows for a smoother transition. And it’s not technically a layoff.

Yeah right. They don’t want any tiny Geo to report on. Apla is the all other geo.

Would be awful for NA to have CS running the biz. Awful person and manager. She is a classically trained crony of HON. Learned all her tricks of managing up and leaving a trail of bad behind her.

LATAM and APAC are now GEO's not territories so they are 'upgraded' from territories.

as a part of the newly formed GEOs they are now geos' not territories.

Please make it make sense. How can APLA geo functions be absorbed into territories when territory directors are dotted line reporting to geo sr directors?

I get the urge to mock this post but if you stop and think about it, doesn't it actually make a lot of sense in practice? Why APLA was a thing never made any sense and why it's based in the Beav too?

So if no jobs are lost like it's said, isn't this something to be celebrated for the business for actually making a LOGICAL reorg decision for once in their lives?!
