Thread regarding Fiserv Inc. layoffs

Riddle me this….

If working in an office is to increase productivity. Why is EVERYONE still meeting in teams when they are in the SAME building?

Why do we business over sees if they won’t be in an office meeting ever! With important stakeholders.

Or… is the plot to have people quit so the books will look favorable when selling it to another company because the math ain’t mathing!!! 2 office seats does not equal 5 employees.

India is not working 24/7. That's silly. In fact we are horribly paying our people there. Horrible FGS leadership to not pay our folks on par with other heavy hitters in that area.

I am tired of losing good people

People have to meet on teams in the same office because there are no conference rooms left - they’re all filled with new hires, elbow to elbow.

I'm pretty sure this is intentional. I'm sure it's to catch "quiet quiters", i.e. those who want to put in their solid 40 per week and then have a life outside of work.

By not counting unscheduled calls and water cooler meetings but holding us accountable to 32.5 hrs per week in sapience as a minimum they can either shame you, review you lower, or outright terminate you with cause anytime they feel like it. The goal being to push people into >40hrs per week, unpaid of course, or weed out those that won't suffer the abuse.

Also, in person meetings and impromptu phone calls are not tracked by our Sapience Buddies. The “just pick up the phone or walk down the hall to collaborate” sentiment is 100% opposite of what they’re projecting by the use of Sapience.

Same as the other commentators. RTO for attrition and tax breaks. It does nothing to add to value of your work nor collaboration. I get more done from home. I'm constantly interrupted at the office by inane b.s.

Additionally, my internet is faster and more reliable than the on site internet.

Forced attrition domestically, meanwhile, India works 24 / 7.

@Op, the _IDOITIC_INCOMPETENT_ senior leaders (FB, JG) must think a monkey can do the job. Too bad many of the soon to be lost knowledgeable people have college degrees so we didn't have to take McDonald's jobs flipping burgers. Oh wait, McD's is automating burger flippers so we are too skilled for those jobs.

RTO is just to get tax credits.

This isn't about collaboration. This is about money and getting people into offices where tax breaks can work for them. If you work remote for this company, you likely won't do it for much longer if they have their way.

You work at Fiserv and expect things to make sense? Things haven't made sense ever since FD took over. FB and cronies will succeed to plummeting this company into the ground.

There is no magic answer that explains everything going on. Frank is a creature of Wallstreet. Reminds me of the movie. Why do you have to wreck this company? Because it’s wreckable! I strongly believe 2024 will be pivotal and anything that makes him money and pumps the stock is for sale.

RTO does not apply to all as there are some that are still remote. Do as they say, not as they do.
