I do know 2 people who are giving their notice March 01. Both are talented and experienced. Having said that, they are both in the financial position to leave. Both make good incomes and have been consciously building their savings. They both also have spouses who work.
It will be more difficult for others. I know Wells Fargo’s position is “everyone is replaceable”, but sometimes that is simply not true. Call one of our phone trees (whether it be HR in the US, or customer service in India) and you’ll have a stark example of how little someone who is reading from a script, but has no foundational knowledge, is able to function.
If everyone in the end is happy, that’s what matters. I hope those who are going to leave are happy with their decision. And those who are thrilled about RTO enjoy themselves when back in the office. And those who don’t want to RTO, but have to due to life circumstances: I hope it’s not as bad as you think - but if it is, please be confident and go find a place to work who will consider you an asset rather than a liability.
