Does anyone have a real scoop on if frontline FER nurses will be effected and if so to what degree? I know regions are changing and realigning but surely the FER process is not going away.... I mean that is a hard dollar area, thoughts?

Any FER/ UM nurses impacted?
For those curious about the 700+ number, that’s the true number that I’ve heard rumbling around. It will be focused enterprise-wide, and that every single department will be impacted in some capacity. Wether that means you’ll report to someone new, have colleagues RIF’d, or be included in a department merger, somehow and someway, your department will be impacted. I’m also hearing that market mergers and Directors who will be layed off have already been established, and communication emails are already being sent. (Which is why I’m so frustrated by the ambiguity. If things are already being finalized, be honest about that in the town halls.) I have been told that we will begin to find out about Associates Directors and below by mid October. The next communication email surrounded by layoffs is expected to hit on Nov 1.
yeah, curious on the 700, is this real? if so are we talking 700 company wide? or a specific area?
Where did you hear 700 people? That’s more than I heard in the jibberish meetings I’ve attended!
@2ppe+1iIMSoKV — I’m really sorry! I can relate. I also feel overwhelmed and anxious. The town halls don’t provide much clarity or help. The town halls basically involve buzz words mixed with a ton of word salad. Too much ambiguity. I wish they would just be straightforward and honest, and say, “hey look, your department might potentially be eliminated. I would recommend that you polish up your resumes asap.” At least then, we could all start making preparations and find some comfort. But no. They can’t even provide any of us the common courtesy of being honest about who specifically would be impacted. 700+ people is a lot, and we all deserve to know if we’re on that list. Notice how they don’t even say the word “layoffs” in the meetings, but rather call it a “change in alignment”. Such bull.
It will not be much longer. Start applying to other jobs and may help you feel you have more control and working on your future. Bless you and your family. Remember this will pass. Humana is a terrible company to work for with all the layoffs every quarter.
My heart can’t take this stress . I am not sleeping . Not eating well . Anxious . Fearful . And that is a good day . I have a family to support and bills to pay . The people on my team are turning on each other . If we worked in a building together I would fear fist fights and poisonings. Others feel same . I wish they would just do what they need to do .

What’s a FER?
Leaders are doing point in time assessments on associates, this is overseen by senior regional leadership and HR partners.
Leaders of leaders are doing those for the leaders aligned to them.
There will be a RIF for sure.
How many FER nurses and managers/ADs that are needed is still to be determined.
Formal messaging and notification about all that is coming in November.
Oh that is not good. Having Cigna also for employee health coverage in 31 states is not good. I wonder if they’re just going to contract everything out or just get rid of it? BB did say they did not want to be a health insurance company anymore.
We have meetings for the next two weeks . This is so painful to deal with . What is going on with this company . My sister works for United health . She informed me they just got a contract to do Humana reviews ? Are we getting rid of utilization review at Humana ?
The Humana ship isn’t sinking, it’s sailing forward in another direction, and a bunch of us are being left at a port of call…bb is still the captain
Everybody is getting laid off . Only BB is staying behind on the sinking ship . We are using another insurance company to insure us ?
I think that depends on the consultant’s estimation of how many FER nurses are needed in each market. There are many variables here and as humana continues to delegate their UM activities to other companies like cohere and others, they won’t need as many FER nurses.
