A few days before possible layoffs I can't tell if people are more worried about being laid off or more worried about not being laid off. What used to be everybody's nightmare has turned into an opportunity for many to leave this place and move on. That says a lot about WFC.

Don't have access to Fox News, and wouldn't watch it if I did. Keep flailing about over there though, that's entertainment enough for me. When you're done with that, read up on DVT risk from flying, it's a known thing. The baseline risk has nothing to do with COVID or vaccines, but what if that "really low risk" they claim is not so low when combined with the known-for-years risk of DVT issues when flying?
Bah, why worry about it. What's the worst that could happen, amiright?

You big drama queen. These things happen ONLY in your fevered fox watching imagination.
WF was one of the, if not the worst experience of my working career. Being displaced was the best thing that happened to me at WF. I hated the place. I took my 60 days notice and my 6 months separation pay, chilled out, took my time and landed a better paying position with better benefits and company culture.
My advice is get out as soon as you can!
No, they aren't. The real threat is your Delta airlines pilot dying in-flight from jab #2. RTO is gonna be awesome, dodging semis with DOA drivers at the wheel will make for exciting commutes.
Field Rep as a location is the same as remote worker.
3rd world Indians
Look at Wells execs.. how many of them are Indians? Get a grip!
Aww, that's super.
"3rd world Indians"
Those 3rd world Indians are now heading Google and Microsoft, LOL

You can lament the loss of American jobs to foreign workers without dissing the foreigners.
Agree with the OP. If they offer me the package then I would take it and leave without a second thought. Even if I don't get laid off this year, most likely get laid off when RTO or relocation strategy are in full swing.
I have recently checked my RTO page and it lists my office as remote. My paystub recently started listing my work location as field rep instead of an office ( not a hub ) I used to go pre covid19. I also noticed they removed my access to the office I used to go to pre covid19.
Once RTO is back in full swing. I have a feeling the will ask me either going to the nearest hub, which is like around 100 miles from where I live or resign. I will probably resign. This is because I would rather look for opportunities outside this place than staying in this ship wreck.
Good to meet ya. Now you do. I love my job and am literally thankful every day that I'm able to do what I do.
Negative Nellies tend to hang together so it's not shocking that your peer group is like minded. Have faith that no population of 250k is homogeneous in thought.
"Beware. WF is very aggressively telling mgt to write up employeess for everything..."
That's funny. I'm a manager and haven't received any such directives. Doesn't seem very "aggressive".
It's not the number of hrs you work each day, but when you START working each day (and whether you're putting in a minimum of 8 hrs). Applies to both exempt and non-exempt.
Read the recent updates to the Employee Handbook. Everyone is affected.
I've heard of terminations for cause based on this in Marketing and Comms so far. Mgrs trained on ratcheting up documentation (i.e., "papering out" employees), too.
No jobs out there, and you have to go through leaps and bounds during interviews. You'll see, and you'll wish you were back.
I don't know a single person that likes working at WF and I know a lot of people there, all in different departments. It is in a downward spiral.
@kau+1dfvVhPc are you able to say what area you are working? I am only familiar with this happening to hourly workers in retail.
Exempt, unfortunately, doesn't really have anything to do with how many hours you work.
The stick simply took a darker turn.
Layoff efforts have been replaced by creative terminations for cause.
I know of 3 terminations in the past 2 weeks. (No severance/separation pay, of course.) Due to petty infractions in the stringent, updated Employee Handbook -- e.g. tardiness by 10 mins (these were exempt FTEs working from home who didn't log in exactly by exact start time). 3 times you're out.
Beware. WF is very aggressively telling mgt to write up employeess for everything and mgrs themselves can be written up if they don't follow the strict process.
WF is in the final laps of circling the drain.
I don't want to be laid off. Too much of a problem to find a good fit elsewhere. I have been in the game too long to just "up and start looking". If I were 30 years old, maybe I'd look at it a bit differently, but hard to say.

Would suggest you learn how to read a graph before you post it 😂.
Ya got to wonder if any of the higher ups suggest voluntary separation packages- would be great to know the real reason it’s never offered… seems like those who stay would focus better and get rid of those that aren’t motivated anyways. Why these rolling layoffs
https://www.bls.gov/charts/employment-situation/civilian-unemployment-rate.htm
Just look at the unemployment rate, in 6-9 months they will be humping your leg to not leave
Most people, including managers, are holding out for the package. It shows how out-of-touch with reality our executives are. They’ve created an environment where most of their people want out and therefore will benefit by doing the bare minimum. I don’t even think there is a way for it to be turned around at this point.
I think the threat was amplified by the COVID shutdown. On so many levels Wells Fargo has become less and less attractive. I haven't received a raise in year now. They've baited and switched job titles on people. They've stuffed management with headcount from other banks that are way less qualified then staff they lead. They've played with the 401k match. Then to make things even worse they made most our co workers 3rd world Indians who simply are not anywhere close to being qualified for the roles they're hired for.
If you get a package its often times because your manager doesn't like you, and those are jobs you don't want. The manager has made your life miserable likely for years. Getting a package is like angels from heaven coming down and blessing you. Fear not there's always another job out there.
Been here long enough that getting laid off is like Wi--y Wonka’s Golden Ticket.
Why would anyone be worried about being laid off from a company that is so obviously mismanaged?
The future for WF is not bright. So many issues are highlighted on these forums: -operational issues
- regulatory issues
- technical issues
- wetware issues...
The current ELT has been working on fixing things for two years and what progress do we have to show?
- more restrictions
- no progress on the cap
- flat stock price for two years
- lack of raises
- constant job retitles
- monkeying with bonuses
- CEO has (maybe) learned a few guitar riffs
Why would anyone fear being let go from this shitshow?
