Can anyone explain…..

Why we sponsored all of these people from India, hired them, pay them more than tenured employees , and give them higher titles like advisors. Why don’t we want any Americans left in this company?

Like many have said, H1B workers are easier to push around. They're terrified of losing their job since they get about a month to find a new sponsor or must leave, and when the average for finding a new job is 3-6 months right now, its pretty much a notice of deportation. And thats not even including the extra difficulty in finding an employer that will sponsor.

In all fairness, many of the H1B workers here, never should've been here in the first place. H1B is meant to fill knowledge gaps that are missing in country. That means each H1B should have skills GREATER THAN can be found here, or as good as can be found here if the resources arent local and can't be remote. Instead you get a bunch of people from around the world applying for H1B visas that are barely at the same level as comparable in country workers, but willing to work cheaper, or be treated like modern day sl_ves. Technically an H1B can't be paid less than an in country person, but companies skirt those rules. And even if they pay the same, they can pull the "free overtime" lever as often as they want thereby granting themselves 1.5-2.0 times the employee for the same money.

H1B is a messed up visa that is played by companies like a fine fiddle. It really needs restructuring.

To the talented team I work with in India, please take these comments from your US counterpoints with a grain of salt.

Some are frustrated that you have US jobs and are putting them to shame. Others are worried that you are taking US jobs and not producing. Which is not OK either.

It is a cr-p time on multiple continents.

Regardless of where we live, we need to decide how much effort we are going to put in every day. I am a US employee and it is a daily struggle. I can't imagine what it is like offshore.

Obviously because they can't find enough Americans willing to deal with this cr-p for below market rate. Might as well get some people who can send money back to India. Half of fiserv business is India. Deal with it.

They are currently sponsoring many more into the states. Big orange thinks they are more easy to control and force into office if they have given them entry.

I want to know that too. Perhaps FB just follows the fashionable trend of Indian tech domination to render an image as a tech company like Google, and eventually find an Indian to replace himself? I don't know. What I do know is the internal systems are falling apart, productivity is down the drain.
