Thread regarding Nike Inc. layoffs

Accent**e needs to go from Nike

I cannot believe the millions of dollars we pay for idiocy and paper pushers. It could have saved many FTEs from Nike had the consultants got chopped down. There are probably 10-15 good consultants in that cesspool of over 1000. Zero knowledge, zero accountability (like that means anything anymore) and zero curiosity or desire to help their client aka Nike. 80% of them are fresh out of college. They fly in on Monday afternoon and fly out Thursday afternoon. Literally 3 days and our meetings can happen only during that time. You are welcome as$-kent-chure, we are training your consultants and paying you while laying off our own.

Those who wanted Accenture in definitely did not read up enough on why companies failed after they engaged Accenture. These ppl only wanred ti hear the good stuff to support their decisions. That’s just throwing away millions to learn a painful lesson that they only realised yrs later. What to do? Lost the good FTEs plus ended up with big mess later.

How in the world is TT a VP much less still employed? It’s truly mind boggling how a program can be multiple YEARS behind schedule and over budget by a BILLION dollars? Whisky Tango Foxtrot???

I know you monitor this site - you su-k at this - you anre absolutely incompetent. Please resign and let someone more competent and less toxic resurrect this program.

We all hate you TT. Go away. Please.

@2lhr+1seX4jAl - Spot on!! I am glad you got lucky in removing some of these "consultants". They hardly know tech, they hardly know SAP, they hardly know retail or wholesale, they don't know how coding or testing works. They push push push to get meaningless work done that can appear as successful on a deck for "metrics". They are so tone deaf, obnoxious and do not respect the clients they are here to deliver for. Nike's SAP engineers spend nights trying to solve the issues these id--ts introduced because they won a contract for engineering. ZERO standards and best practices.

This is especially true for SEC program which is Accenture driven. Utter failure as a program after spending billions and no VP from the program has been fired only SD, D and principals got the boot. Accenture should have been long replaced for their complete incorrect incompetence, but probably kick back money is likely reaching the right places that they are still around.

Besides the inexperience, they’re coming in to manage projects where almost no up front research has been done. As long as there is the “go code, you’ll get the requirements later” mentality - failure is guaranteed. Only the experienced can put out the fires and do the ‘dive & catch’ necessary to keep the business moving … only now there are very few SME’s left, almost no documentation, no training, no retention of Nike knowledge, worthless support teams, no view access to figure things out on your own…. multiple generations of this means the blind leading the blind. Yes, Accenture needs to go - they (along with all the 3rd party vultures) are acting in their best interests, not Nike’s. The bodies in seats mentality is where Tech went horribly wrong, and it will not correct itself until we value knowledge, experience, and the ability to get stuff done - over fiefdom building, playing CYA, sc--w your neighbor (not fixing brokens), and a general sense of not giving a sh-t about internal and external Customers. Culture is Broken. Needs a reboot, where Quality is the focus - both of the work results and of character. Too many dishonest people in Tech … starting with the 3rd parties.

My two cents. There are way too many 'admins' in the Accenture pool. This is where I feel they can get rid of many. There are some really good and really bad Subject Matter Experts. I have complained enough to get rid of our bad and luckily got good.
